When will the 1988 "Unsolved Mysteries" intro video be uploaded? I haven't seen the original NBC version in a long time.

Was that the one where they'd show clips from the show in the intro? I dont remember that one too well but I'd like to see the intro again too!

*Sigh* When I was little as much as the show scared me I loved it and my mom would tape it for me bc I didnt want to watch it at night but during the day it didnt scare me so I would watch it then. I wish I could find the tape she made. It had the ghost episode with the boy spinning the cup and his face was blue and it was scary as hell! I remember that tape had the old intro..maybe we have it somewhere but more than likely its at the dump.

First, a male voice (Danny Dark, I think, is his name) would read the opening disclaimer ("This program is about unsolved mysteries......";). Then, the UM logo zooms into the screen with purplish rays and goes through the word "mysteries". After that point, Robert Stack tells us what we will be seeing on this particular episode with the segment clips. After that, they show Stack, he says "Join me. Perhaps you may be able to help solve a mystery", and ths screen fades to black with the 6 purple bars coming from the bottom. On the original NBC version, the topics (wanted, unexplained death, etc.) roll down the bars, then, I think, they rotate around for a little while until something zooms into the screen, saying the word "solved". After that, they show clips of stories that have been solved, then the bars come from the bottom, but this time, they just rotate until they go to the center of the screen. The black background turns to black marble, the "unsolved" letters light up, and a cloud inside the 6 bars forms the word "mysteries". After this happens, it just says "hosted by Robert Stack".
