Just when you thought that after the third movie, it would all end there. Well, Tom Hanks just revealed that a fourth movie is in the works.

This has been speculated for a while now. A lot of people r thinking it'll be about Andy reuniting w the toys... Part three made me cry and if that was the end they did a Damn fine job w it. Part four would be cool but may be a stretch to pull off

I am okay with this. Honestly, Toy Story's one of the few franchises where I think a regular dose of sequels would be nice.

And to think many would believe that Cars 2 failing at the box office would be causing Pixar to jump the shark for good.

toy story 3 was oddly good.

I hope they don't ruin it with a 4th one, ala Shrek.

Holy CRAP! When I read the thread title, I thought it was just to fool us. I thought it was done for good! This puts a big smile on my face :D Thank youuu~

Edit: Oh and another thing. Hopefully Pixar is doing this for our entertainment and they are going to put their heart and soul into this. Even though Toy Story 3 had a good heartwarming emotional ending, hopefully they will able to keep up and continue some new plots.

Yeah, I thought it was another creature feature topic at first. This isn't exactly confirmation that they're doing it for sure, though.

Hopefully we won't have to wait over a decade for it to be released.

Well, that's good that they announced a new movie, but after the third movie, I wonder what they have planned for this installment.

Just because Pixar made one not-so-great movie doesn't mean they're going to jump the shark. I still believe that Pixar has what it takes, but not every movie that they make is going to be spectacular.

Just one not so great movie? What about Ratatouille, UP, Cars, Toy Story 3, Wall-E, and A Bug's Life? They certainly weren't the worst movies that I've ever seen, but they're up there.

Ratatouille - a cooking rat. Really?
                                UP - just....no
Cars - nothing about it made sense. A world of cars, with doors,....and no people? Why do they have doors?
Toy Story 3 - alright, I guess, but nothing close to what it should have been
Wall-E - How many times do we have to see the loveable robot movie? Short Circuit, Iron Giant, the robots from Black Hole, R2-D2/C3P0?
A Bug's Life - looked nice, but a story we've seen a million times before.

There were very few good things about these movies. Some of them had some great actors. But they all had derivative plotlines without even one single original thing to them. None of these movies are on the Antz or Bee Movie level of horrible-ness, but they just should have tried better.
Don't pay any attention to the evil spirited and dead of heart. They're not worth your time.

I thought Ratatouille was cute, and Up was fantastic. I think you're overanalyzing one small aspect of Cars, what Pixar movie does make sense? I'll agree that Toy Story 3 wasn't exactly as great as it could've been, but still great nonetheless - and considering they're proposing another sequel, it's good to know the series might not end with that, just Andy's story. Never seen Wall-E or A Bugs Life so I can't judge, although your reasoning for the former being bad is pretty lame considering it's totally different from the movies those robots are in.

I think most people generally view all Pixar movies (sans Cars 2) much more positively than negatively. So overall, even if you don't agree, I'm pretty sure it's nearly unanimous that Pixar's had a long streak of great movies.

The wording he was using makes me think Tom Hanks was just bullshiting around in that interview. "Oh yeah, we auh, we're SO making it! I think I remembering them saying it a while ago, so yeah it's totally on!"

With Cars 2, it's whatever. Cars was the one that brought in the most merchandise money, so I can see how that commercial of a movie came about. This is barely a blip on the radar, they don't give two shits about those movies (no matter how hard Lasseter tries to bullshit otherwise).

But Toy Story is Pixar's golden child. Toy Story MADE Pixar and they have handled each one of them with the utmost care. And with Toy Story 3, it was THE perfect ending to the childhood-to-adulthood story that spanned 15 years. There's IS no way you can continue that story because it's already completed. The only thing they COULD do would be to remake Toy Story 1 but with Bonnie instead of Andy, or bring back some minor character of the past and force them to become a main character/threat in some convoluted way ala the SAW series.

Pixar has no reason to do that and is smart enough not to. The only reason TS3 was made was to end it once and for all, and it's going to stay that way. Period. In a couple weeks, this rumor is gonna be squashed and forgotten.

I hope Dmoney is right. Each Toy Story installment had a perfect ending to close the story. But when you seal the final chapter so well, any attempt to reopen it will look sloppy.

I'm starting to wish they did get incinerated at the dumps..

Do we really need another toy story? Why so soon anyways, 3 just happened, I think if anything at least wait a nice chunk of time before announcing another installment.
