This has been my absolute favorite game for well over two years now, and it just occurred to me that I haven't seen much discussion about it here. Any players?
I personally think it's the coolest, most diverse FPS ever created, with a very unique style and constant free updates to always keep it fresh. Weapons (and hats) are added so often that the number of possible loadouts one can have is simply amazing - and this is across nine different characters! Even the barebones vanilla TF2 alone is better than most shooter games (well, in my opinion, all of them), so all the new material makes the $20 purchase a steal. I really can't say enough good things about this game, so I'd like to hear some other thoughts.
Also by pure coincidence, it turns out the game's free to play this week. I strongly urge anyone who hasn't played it to try it out.

This "side note" of which I mentioned in my original post.
It's on the PC, the only real platform for TF2.

Team Fortress 2 is a highly effective, yet simplistic, shooter. Nothing is overly fancy and nothing is overly complicated. The unfortunate aspect is how it has been neglected for the past few years on the 360. Zero DLC maps in the past 4 years? Hell, even Dead Rising had some basic DLC.

That's true, but it was really meant as a PC game to begin with. The 360 and PS3 versions are more of a bonus/alternative if anything, rather than full-fledged versions of the same great game. And for the record, they initially intended to update the 360 version as much as the PC one, but they had issues because Microsoft wouldn't let them release free content updates. The PS3 one I don't know... frankly, I've never known anybody who's owned it at all.

I think the download's particularly bad now because of all the people playing - on my laptop it said it'd take over seven hours, even though I was already at the most recent version before it, and updates never usually take more than ten minutes.
