This was my favorite place as a kid. There was no drive-thru. I remember when they built the drive-thru at my local McD's. The Happy Meals were the best. The theme changed with the season's/holidays. The Halloween Happy Meal was my favorite. This was where I discovered I enjoy syrup on my sausage. I have a lot of good memories associated with McDonalds.

I remember the playgrounds, Officer Big mac the most. That was awesome I remember always climbing in there and then jumping out thinking I was cool in the section were the bars were open
LOL. The slides they had back then were also awesome. One thing I couldn't stand though if rained the day before aaahhh man no playground I remember that alot to.
Also I liked there slogans in there ads were alot more catchy back then.

                    Yeah the styrofoam containers.

McDonalds when I was young was the greatest treat ever it was as exciting as going to an amusement park or the arcade.

When I was a kid, my uncle used to give all of us these really cool coupons to get free sundaes. I'm pretty sure that they still have these but they're just not the same. Also, the Halloween pails with the witch and jack o'lantern faces on them. I'm going to track down a complete set of those one of these days. Another good memory I have is that some McDonalds had a special kids area where there was a big, fiberglass tree with seats that were meant to be branches or roots of the tree. Oh, and the springy riding things that were shaped like Mayor McCheese and Grimace and Birdie The Early Bird. And as it was mentioned before, I really miss the styrofoam containers for the burgers and nuggets. I found one on ebay once, but didn't have the money at the time. The cardboard "trunks" that they have now are too boring.
Don't pay any attention to the evil spirited and dead of heart. They're not worth your time.

What I remember about the foam containers was, they utilized them for birthday party games. I wish I could find our family videos with that birthday on it (my presents were 100% Batman related).

A few years later our new(er) McDonalds set up two SNES booths in the kids' eating area (connected to the playland and equipped with sound proof glass doors). We went every other Friday for 3 years along with at least 10% of my classmates.

I remembered being excited for the toys that came with the Happy Meal, nowadays I'm only excited for the frozen lemonades.

To add to what I have previously posted a few weeks ago, I also remember the disposable aluminum ashtrays they used to have on each table at McDonalds. I have since bought some off ebay

Scraped knees and tears. Sounds of laughter. However there was no laughter to be had went they shipped them boys off to battle. War does funny things to men. This much is true.
