for people that buy games used to save money. Do you feel like youre missing out on the hype/fun when you get a game a yr or 2 late. For example, I'm barely getting around to borrowing my uncles copy of Metal Gear Solid 4, and when I look online I see all these reviews of how its one of the greatest games on the ps3 and all the great things, and think, man Ive been missing out. What are your thoughts?

I don't think so because games like MGS4 you play for the story line not the online play. Maybe if it was a popular shooting game and you waited a few years to play it or any other game that is meant for online gaming. You would have missed out.

i used to feel that way, but nowadays i don't worry about that sort of thing anymore. each game genre will sometimes introduce a new type of innovation in their games, but when you stop and think about it, past games of those genres are just the same as they are now

Not really. Most of my friends play online but I have yet to start. I always seem to be a little behind in the times, but it does save me a good chunk of change. If you play online I guess the trick is to get your friends to join in on the savings and buy the same older games. One of my good friends has started doing that.

You know, Im not big on online playing... mainly because I dont know too many people, and having a kid, I dont get to ever really sit and enjoy playing for more than 10-15 minutes.

With MGS, i guess yall are right, Im playing for the story not the online experience so I guess it doesnt matter when I play it as long as I play

Yeah, you're only missing out when online play is involved. Because then you're like me, getting a game and going online and not finding anyone to play with.

If it's a single player game, nah I don't feel like I've missed out. I usually wait anyway, just for the price to drop.

MMOs? Yeah I rather buy them at release just so I can get ahead or stay on par with most of the masses. It's no fun when you fall behind and everyone out gear or level you.

I've been missing gaming out since 2006, when these next-gen consoles came out because videogames are far too expensive on my country due to high taxes. But it didn't use to be like this in the SNES, N64 days...
Shao Kahn: You pathetic fools, I've come for your souls!

                  Raiden: I don't think so.

Ocarina of Time costed around 75 dollars when it first came out.

Sometimes, yes. I prefer to play games while there's still hype unless it's an instant classic like Mass Effect or Elder Scrolls. Those are timeless. So either way, I'll play those the day they come out but I can still play them years later.
