    Fri. the 13th.

Too many years of High School hearing douchebags using Freddy's one liners on girls thinking they were cool just biases me too much against Nightmare on elm St.

Freddy for his dark sense of humor and Jason for his intimidating and horrific appearance. But if I had to pick one, I'd pick Jason for nostalgic reasons. I've loved the Friday The 13th series ever since I saw Jason X during my sophomore year of high school back in 2002.

And then my good friend who introduced me to Jason flicks and slasher flicks in general and the one who went to see Jason X with me also lent me all the Friday flicks one after the other until I saw them all. However, up until last Halloween, I had never seen Jason Goes To Hell until I caught it a week before Halloween on AMC for their Frightfest marathon. It wasn't a bad movie in general but I was a little disappointed that Jason was only on screen for a little more than 10 minutes of the whole movie. Yeah, he ends up possessing a few people and he's technically still the killer but that's just it.

Having said that, Friday The 13th parts 1-4, 6, 7, Jason X, Freddy Vs. Jason and the remake are my favorites in the series.

For sheer creepiness factor, it's Friday The 13th all the way....personally, I found little at the time that was spookier than a gargantuan, homicidal mute in & a hockey mask using virtually anything at his disposal to do you in.

Oh, and there was always the added bonus of the creepier soundtrack.....CH, CH, ch, ch......KA, KA, ka, ka....

That's "KILL, KILL, KILL...MA, MA, MA..." Like in the first movie when Mrs. Voorhees is briefly possessed by her son "Kill her, Mommy! Kill her!!! Don't let her get away, Mommy. Don't let her live! I WON'T, JASON!! I WON'T!!!"

I always enjoyed the Nightmare on Elm Street series more. To me, Freddy is just more intriguing and entertaining. Even the cheesiest of the Elm Street movies are still entertaining, in my opinion.
