      It's still a stupid idea for a developer to spend that much time and money on a game that may or may not even be successful.

        i remember when MGS4 made fun of this, it was really nostalgic. MGS4 in general was a nostalgia bomb, i loved it

          Guys, this still happens today. You know how the Xbox 360 didn't use HD-DVD or Blu-Ray(I know it's owned by Sony, who makes the PS3), well I bought L.A. Noire yesterday, which is an excellent game, but it has 3 discs. I dunno if you get a title screen that says PLEASE INSERT DISC 2 or 3, but it's not retro to have more than one disc per game.

            Castlevania LOS 360, I hate this game because of switching disks.....Im ready for my WII U (or maybee Ill get a PS3 between that time)

              But the thing is, it would be their most successful game of all time. No question. It's a fact. They wouldn't even need to make games anymore, they could all retire.

                well if i remember correctly, square began working on final fantasy VII around 1992-ish, and it's surprising because of how long it went into production, because normally you only get a year and a half to make a game, then arrive for a deadline to sell the product
