I would say so. I'm referring of course to the first two. Red Version, and Blue Version. They're still fun to play, despite how old and outdated they are. Based on what I've seen in the new games when I've watched people play them, the first two seem to be easier. I've noticed the games have gotten a lot more complex over the years. Do you think it would be harder to play the Red Version, and Blue Version now, than when they first came out? A part of me says yes, because they're so old, and outdated that people don't really play them anymore. If you have one of the first two games, and the strategy guide, it shouldn't be too much trouble. I guess the hardest part would be finding someone who still has one of the two games. Do you think it's still worth playing the first two Pokemon games? If so, how hard do you think it would be to beat them?

They're all the same thing. Doesn't matter.

All you have to do is pick it up. If you're having fun, then go for it. They are way simpler than some of the newer versions (even at the time they seemed impossible).

If you're talking about Red/Blue or Gold/Silver, fine then.

There's no reason not to play a game for old time's sake.

I'm tempted to open up my Pikachu Nintendo 64 and see what Pokemon is all about.

I started playing Pokemon Yellow along with some of my other old Gameboy games recently. It's still really enjoyable.

Yellow was my favorite, I loved how Pikachu would follow you around and get mad when you would deposit him.

I only got a hold of gold and silver, so I never had the chance to play red, blue or yellow.

It's really up to you if you wanna go down that road. As for Final Fantasy, I picked it up again.
