Did anyone here have one of these things? I never did, I never even heard of them until a few years ago. I like the idea of the overlays, seems like a cool idea. They go for ALOT of money on E-bay if you want one that actually has a couple games + overlays. So I guess my question is, is it worth buying?
I am adding a link in case anyone has never seen one:

...probably not unless you're REALLY into collecting retro-game systems.

...there are emulators out there that'll attempt to reproduce the same thing (of course, not legally)...

...but it's only worth it if you're getting it for the same of it's retro nastaglia, and not for the "awesome groudbreaking gameplay".

I "found" one at an electonics/dumpster but left it .
It had one game on it like comet blaster.
Never knew they cost so much now.
I wouldn't buy one. get the emu :P

I wouldn't mind getting one myself if I ever find one. I was around when they came out, but never had one or saw a commercial for them at all.

yeah we have one. we didn't get it until probally sometime in the 90's when my grandfather gave it to us because they didn't use it anymore. we had a couple of games for it and the overlays for it. hardly ever play it though. the system is alright but not that great. I say stick with the nes if you have one!!

Reading this post reminded me that I once had a sweet lot of these games in my possesion.
The games were alright, but the feeling that this strange console was unique. Plus, it was HUGE!!
Can you believe that they even produced a "carry" case for this monster??
              :)

I can only imagine the child who wanted to bring his Vectrex to his cousin's house or something. That thing probably weight over 50 pounds, there's no way a youngster could have lift a loaded "carry" case. Not without dropping it on the floor a couple of times :D
The carry case is pictured on the bottom of the picture shown below.

Even thought that lot took a lot of space, I sure miss it from time to time :D

That carry case totally does not look strong enough to hold that thing. It looks like a dust cover. :) I still think I'm gonna get one eventually, its so old school looking. I guess I just want it for the nostalga factor, I know its not going to be stellar gameplay or anything. I'll just have to wait for one to show up at the Salvation Army. :D
