Has anyone else played this game? Its got great gameplay and its chock full of Disney references.
Also it gives Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters a refreshing new look.
Always playing as Yoshi since 1995!

Seems Disney's trying to get out of a rut, yet there still sitting there bound and gagged by teenage whores.

What are you talking about? Disney is a huge company that ACTUALLY does try to appeal to many types of fanbases, not just "teenage whores." Even during the success of the Jonas Brothers and such there was still stuff for the older school Disney fan like myself, such as the "Disney Treasures."

With that being said, I have not played "Epic Mickey" but I am really wanting to play it.

It's not hard to want to improve upon this NES title.

About halfway through Epic Mickey, and seriously digging it. Yes it has camera issues. Yes the platforming is similar to the N64 era (if you'd call that a complaint) and yes a lot of the cool stuff seen in previews has been cut out. Still, Epic Mickey is a pretty solid experience and just brimming with atmosphere. The characters are vibrant. The locations diverse and the story is pretty good so far (love the cutscenes). It has some flaws, but I'm loving it so far.

I'm currently playing through the game right now. I'm actually renting it from Gamefly, but so far, I'm really enjoying this game. I like how all the levels are based of different rides from Disneyland. That, and I enjoy the projector levels that's based on some of the old Mickey Mouse cartoons, with Steamboat Willie being my favorite one.

It's a great game my only problem, like many others, is that the camera really is bad, not game-breaking but it should be much better for a game that was released in 2010. I've seen some complaints about the pointer controls but I haven't noticed anything wrong with them. As a fan of classic Disney I'm really enjoying the game, so far Tomorrow City is my favorite of the worlds I've played through.

If it's as good as Mickey Mania, which I'm assuming has the same concept as that game, then I'm willing to try it.

Played it and beat one of the 2 storylines so far.... and am currently working on the 2nd playthrough. This is probably one of the best wii games and even platformer game to come around in a long time. Really digging all the mickey mouse and disney references.

They removed a good portion of Disney shows on both the main channel and toon disney, killed toon disney and turned it into something else. the cartoons were very limited, but they had some good new ones "Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Buzz on Maggie" but stuff for older fans? yeah that rarely showed.

Disney would be lost without Pixar. Also, the "Disney Treasures" would have never been released had it not been for film critic Leonard Maltin. Disney originally didn't even want to make them.

Could we just get back on topic here. I don't want this thread to turn into yet another god-awful whiny "Wah! Wah! Wah! Disney sux now" thread. Besides, there's still good stuff being done by Disney today, and Epic Mickey is a good example of one of them.

Junction Point is as responsible for how Epic Mickey turned out as Disney is. Square-Enix (as absolutely shitty as they are now) also has done a great job with Kingdom Hearts helping to keep Disney somewhat relevant. The truth is Disney does completely fucking SUCK now compared to what it was. I aprreciate the old stuff still, which is why I like Epic Mickey so much, but the new stuff? Yeah...

Good stuff that Disney has done in recent years.

and others that I probably missed. Not to mention that Disney has other big plans with some of their franchises in the future. One example being the upcoming Winnie the Pooh movie this summer.

As for Junction Point developing the game. Yes, Junction Point did provide a major role for the game, however, Disney came up with the concept for the game and handed it to Warren Spector to make into a video game. Now, if they had something like that planned for a while, then surely, they still have good ideas like this on their minds.

Toy Story 3 is a great movie, Tron Legacy is a good popcorn flick, other than that everything from Disney the last 5+ years is garbage. And I'm probably being generous when I say 5+ years, they've been in a downward spiral longer than that.

Now to be fair, I give them credit for Epic Mickey too, they had a good idea and they picked the right developers. Unfortunately the good ideas don't flow out of the company like they used to. Too busy with crap like Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana and other nonsense.

And Toy Story 3 wasn't even Disney. It was made by Pixar, which Disney owns...but is still a separate studio. When Disney makes an animated movie, they make something like "Chicken Little", "Home on the Range", or "Meet the Robinsons"...none of which even come close to matching Pixar's stuff, or Disney's older movies. Even Disney's more recent efforts to return to their former glory with movies like "The Princess and the Frog" and "Tangled" are nothing compared to Pixar. Disney's primary focus these days is on stuff for teens, and making lame direct to DVD sequels of their classic movies. They've really lost their touch.
