[/list:u:245fe48526][/list:u:245fe48526]The Castlevania games are one of my favourites in videogame history.
It all startet for me with Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge on the GameBoy
when I was like 10 years old. It was that time where you saved your pocket
money an forbidding long time only to spend it on one single afternoon on a
new game just because you liked the cover art. At least this was the case with
    me.

    Well, whatever..

Now I'm gonna be 23 and during these forbidding long years I played every
Castlevania game I could get my hands on. In fact, I just finished Castlevania:
    Bloodlines
    this very morning

My current favourite Castlevania games are Castlevania III(NES), Symphony of
    the Night
(PS) and "Rondo of Blood"(Chi no Rondo - PC Engine).

I just love that whole vampire hunter scenario, the gothic architectures, the
great level design and the catchy tunes. And I bet there are others amongst
you that feel the same way!

So, what experiences have you made with Castlevania?
Which game is your favourite, which one do you like the least?
Who is your favourite Vampire Hunter in the series?

Konami sure came up with a hit when it released Castlevania for the NES. The side scrolling and primitive play/graphics coupled together to form a winner. Even the second installment was fantastic. I enjoyed the added experience of visiting surrounding towns and interacting with the citizens. This was somewhat similar to Zelda II. The last installment I played was for the N64. Surprisingly, this kept my interest and didn't push me away as I thought it would.

I loved the first one for the nes, thought the grim reaper was a pain in the ...

Simons quest was also good though the only time I bothered enough with it to complete it, I was about 10 and the last fight I used a slow motion control pad. After the fight I felt amazing releif and sat back to watch the end video and credits but forgot to take the pad off of slow-mo.
where as back in the day slow -mo was realy just pause-unpause-pause-unpause, it registered as me having pushed start and skipped the whole end sequence and credits.
to say the least, I was not amused.

I actually went out and bought the "Classic NES" GBA edition of the original Castlevania today. I had been playing it on my old-school NES, but it's hard to get it working these days.
Saturday Morning isn't just a part of the week. It's a state of mind.

The first Castlevania and Bloodlines are the best of the series.
There is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil and the other one is good. Which wolf will win? The one you feed the most.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow I find as the best of the game of the series(as well as one of the best games currently out for the Nintendo DS), with Symphony of the Night coming in a close second. I also thought that Aria of Sorrow was pretty good.
                  ROSEBUD....

yes, rosebud frozen peas. Full of country goodness and GREEN PEANESS. wait that's terrible, I QUIT!

oh what luck, there's a french fry stuck in my beard.

The only Castlevania game I've ever played in its original form was Castlevania II. I only got to play Castlevania III for about a day because I borrowed it from a cousin.

In these days of console emulation, I find that I have become more impatient in playing the old NES games. Most likely, it's because on a computer there's a lot of stuff to read and do whereas in the days of my childhood the NES was my only source of mindless entertainment.

The second one is the best of all of them Simon Belmont was the man with the whip . It's one of the top five games of Nintendo of all time.

I wish they had made a werewolf a boss character. Have they in any of the new games? I recently made myself play and complete Simon's quest and boy was it good. But I used a walkthrough ( :( ). Castlevania III, for me, is the best of the series, though. It's very challenging indeed.

My favourite boss in Castlevania III is that demon like creature who is the third to come out of his coffin.

I loved the NES and SNES ones, But after that I kind of lost interest.

Excellent music in all the games, though.
