I'm more of an 80s fan that was a 90s Gen X'er. Not sure why, but I never really got into my own generation of music.
But.. there were still a few that stuck out.
Dinosaur Jr.
Ned's Atomic Dustbin
Faith No More (80s band really that carried on into the 90s)
The Shamen
Nirvana (late 80s carried into the 90s obviously)
Anthrax (80s to 90s, persistence of TIme I think was 90s)
Smashing Pumpkins first 2 albums, after that I didn't care for them
The Flaming Lips early stuff 80s to 90s
Mercury Rev early stuff, none of their new stuff
Here's what I wonder. Do you consider a band like The Smashing Pumpkins an 80s band since they started in the 80s in the same way you'd consider Peter Gabriel an 80s artist? Or do you consider them a 90s band because they were not broadly mainstream and trendy till the 90s?
