This started for me, with accepting a respect for Genesis / Phil Collins. Now they are one of my all time favorites (as displayed by my avatar). But also :
John Lennon as a solo artist.
    Cat Stevens.
    Neil Young.
    Rolling Stones.
    Bob Dylan.
    Frank Zappa.
    Van Halen (not Van Hagar)

Or vice versa. I've tried, but can't get into :
    Miles Davis.
Most Metal bands. (just because I play guitar, doesn't mean I need to learn Megadeth)

Kanye West. I really didn't like him because of how he can be a pretty big douche. The guy's a musical genius and I should haven't judged a book by its cover.

            Justin Bieber.

            Seriously.

            Is he any good? Naw.
Is there a HELL of a lot worse pop music out there? Oh most definitely. If you can sit through "Whip My Hair" or "Blah Blah Blah" the whole way through, you are stronger than I...

So instead of trying to inject some common sense into people about how they're only making their OH SO HORRIFIC problem worth by constantly bitching about him, thus keeping him relevant in the public eye...I now hope he sticks around for as long as possible. If idiots want to be idiots, at least they can suffer by the continuing dominance of their mortal enemy.

And I will giggle with glee as they writhe in pain :lol:

Right on. His new album is fucking incredible and beats any mainstream Hip-Hop album this year. Your thoughts?

I have trouble getting around how many songs he's sampled. He's not really a true hip-hop artist. If he was then he'd come up with his own ideas. But he doesn't have an original thought in his head to save his life.

                  Here's an example.

This is obviously a sample of Tears for Fears Memories Fade.

                      Katy Perry and Neil Young.

I used to not be able to get past Neil's voice, but then I heard Crosby Stills Nash & Young's Deja Vu album and wound up liking Neil's songs on the album the most and from there it changed the way I looked at the rest of his music.

There's some Katy Perry songs I'm still not that into but overall I think she's pretty cool and I'd much rather listen to her than stuff like Britney Spears or Ke$ha. Katy's first album has some not bad power pop on it and I like her unplugged EP.

One would be Radiohead. The older I got, the more I seemed to enjoy them (for whatever reason).

Another would be The Beatles. I have no clear reason why, but I loathed them for a long time. A friend of mine let me borrow Revolver and my mind was quickly changed.

I have to be honest. I use to make fun of my parents for liking Journey so much, but over the years, I myself have grown to enjoy them. Heck truth be told, every time I'm in my car listening to the radio, if they play "Don't Stop Believing," yeah, I turn it up and rock out.

I remember a time when every single morning I'd wake up and pray to all the gods there are that Panic! At The Disco would all contract some horrible disease and fall off a cliff. Now, after nobody cares about them I only silently pray every Thursday that they all git bitten by some black widows or rattlesnakes.

I used to hate any Oldies/Beach music and early 80s country like Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, etc.
