It wasn't more of a boss as much as it was a level really. Super Mario Kart on the 150cc setting and trying to beat Rainbow Road was a huge pain in the backside!

But other actuall bosses include some of the bosses from Breath of Fire and The Final Boss from Final Fantasy 1. Those were really tough ones.

I beat Friday the 13th, Game Genie free...I was so small, that game actually used to scare me *lol* that was a real bitch of a game though, since you had to beat him like 400 times before it was REALLY over. Judge Doom was also insanely difficult...I think that game may be one of the hardest I've ever played. But the prize for hardest game boss ever, I think has to go to the Ruby and Emerald Weapons in FF7...you literally need to like, set aside HOURS...I mean...that's just not how games were meant to be played!
I know you are, but what am I?

Mike Tyson was only tuff until you figured him out. There was a method that once you had it you didn't lose that skill. Code by the way 007-373-5963.

The hardest boss I'd say was the boss from Mario 2, The one that three the Vegetables. Forget his name.

In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, when you used the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge to lock on and play with Knuckles, the final Robotnik on the Death Egg is soooooo hard to beat because you have to jump high to hit him, and Knuckles sucks at jumping. I think I've beaten him ONCE.

The one my sister complains about the most, and this involves both a level and a Boss, is on the first Ninja Gaiden for NES. When you have to beat Jaquio and Ryu's father back to back I think, and there's that damn level where you have to climb up, and if you lose on the bosses, you have to do the whole friggin level over again. She hates playing that game because of it, haha.

Judge Doom isn't too hard, you just kinda "dance" around to build up full strength, and you just keep pushing Doom back into the wall until you've got him pinned, then proceed to beat the living snot out of him using full strength punches, you know, the ones that shake the whole screen, haha. But watch out because he likes to break free and punch you, or shoot his eyeballs at you. If he does either, run away! And repeat the process until the smelly old retard is dead. Of course then you have to run down and get the dip cannon, which isn't too hard. Also cigars and bombs are the only items that will hurt Judge Doom, but they don't lower his energy THAT much. Man how I hate those darn weasels when the Toon Patrol comes to get you, and those stupid snakes that chase you through the woods when you're going to the caves. Of course when using Bennie you can get out of him and make the weasels get out of their car, and then get back in Bennie really fast and run them over!

Ninja Gaiden was easy for me. It took me a few tries to get the final boss pattern down. Once you beat him, the flying banchee guy, you had to fight his alien boss. He was easy.

Final Fantasy was a cake walk. Chaos was easy based in part on my levels and using the right combinations.

Chrono Trigger was the hardest. The man before was right. Too long of a fight for such a long drawn out game.

Castlevania was easy once you got the pattern down. After Dracula you had to right the Blue Monster in the same fight. He was the hard part.

Tyson, never beat him. I would get close and go to round 3. But he nails you since you get nervous.

Mega Man 1 had a hard final battle. No energy cubes, no weapon charges. Talk about tough.

I was at my best in those days. I was the whiz kid in my neighborhood. My reflexes were unchallenged. I had no equal.

                  Dracula: Castlvania

I always thought it was surprising that Sandman was the toughest. I could defeat Super Macho Man with ease, but Mr. Sandman was the only boxer who I could never defeat :x

Defintly the hardest boss was from the original Dynasty Warriors. I think it may have been Sima Yi. You could not get past that water attack. By far one of the hardest. Took me days when I was a kid. Havn't played it in probably 13 years, but would love to try again. Also, lets not forget about the Murphys Ghost from Wizadry on the NES. Those buggers always popped up at the wrong time.

I'm playing Pirates of Dark Water for SNES at the moment, and there's this bastard flying dragon boss that swoops and shoots fireballs at you. I just can't beat him. I think I may have to get a friend over to take advantage of the 2P mode.

The Shadow Boss of Double Dragon II - The Revenge. If it wasn't for those super knee kicks, I'd never have been able to defeat him

That is SO TRUE! It's kind of funny finding out there are others who felt the same thing while having a hassle with this jerk. I hated that punk, and it took me quite a few tries to finally beat him. The game? Good. The ending? Weak.

Oh man... I don't even want to remember how frustrating it was trying to beat everything in "Super Mario Kart." Something else that took a while to accomplish. Great game overall though (none of the sequels I've played have ever matched it in terms of fun factor), especially in two-player mode.

Jimmy Lee in the original "Double Dragon."
Jaquio in the original "Ninja Gaiden" (you have to use magic -- specifically Fire Wheel)
Just about every boss in "Bayou Billy."
Lavos in "Chrono Trigger" (takes sooo long)
And a big dishonorable mention to Cyber Akuma from the arcade "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter."

I for some reason was awesome at friday the 13th. I could beat jason, navigate the forest and caves, and save all the kids at the lake. I suck at alot of games but I was FLIPPIN SWEET at Friday the 13th, use the axe!!!

I could never beat the flying demon in Ghosts'n'Goblins that steals the princess at the beginning of the game. you have to shoot him ten times and its just impossible. Judge doom defintely cheats, I never beat him. Mike Tyson was very hard. Chaos, the final boss in final fantasy was extremely hard when i first faught him, I up my exp. and he fell reasonably easy.

While I loved the concept of the battle with The End in MGS3, It was hell for me. 3 HOURS OF HELL. I was supposed to beat him and then go out with my friends. They kept calling and calling and I told them that I still wasn’t done. To make matters worse, I was pre-gaming at my place, so I only thought I was going to have a beer or two. A 12 pack later, battling the End was harder and harder.
