Our first NES, that my brother bought used at an EB Games (remember them?) in '99, lasted only 3-4 years before it over-heated. I bought the rare top-loader NES for myself so I could finally beat Mario Bros. 1 a few years back, and I'm so glad I got it instead of the old-style front-loader NES, since the top-loaders are FAR more reliable. It was quite a steal, since I got it used on Amazon for $60 US
Meanwhile, our SNES and N64, which my family got when they came out, still work to this day |
