      I've gotten my SNES in November of 2008 (when I was 16).
      I never owned one when I was a kid. :P
      Heck, both my NES and SNES still work fine though, and I don't have a problem. :)

            Sadly, I don't have my original Genesis anymore (if I could switch gears), I sold it about 10 years ago for a PS1 like a dumbass because I didn't realize how much I'd miss my old games and realize what a comeback retro games would make. My first Genesis that I got six years ago was a Genesis Model 3 made in 1998 (so its like 13 years old). It still works but I don't use it as much as my Model 2 Genesis because I can't use my Game Genie on it and a few other select games like Virtua Racing. As far as my Model 2 goes, its about 18 years old (made in 1993) and its still alive and kicking (knock on wood).

              Our first NES, that my brother bought used at an EB Games (remember them?) in '99, lasted only 3-4 years before it over-heated. I bought the rare top-loader NES for myself so I could finally beat Mario Bros. 1 a few years back, and I'm so glad I got it instead of the old-style front-loader NES, since the top-loaders are FAR more reliable. It was quite a steal, since I got it used on Amazon for $60 US :D

              Meanwhile, our SNES and N64, which my family got when they came out, still work to this day :)

                  Hi, I know it has been awhile since this was posted, but I finally got my SNES up and running again! The dude I took it to realized that it was actually my power cord, it was not giving enough "juice"...so I just got another one and it was fine :) The first game I played was Mario All Stars for a warm up and then switched Zelda, thank you guys for all of the support!!!

                    I've had SNESs die on me;

                    Green lines up/down if playing a Super FX game
                    Black flashes if playing Super Mario World
                    Indescribable flickering if using an RGB scart lead

                    I have gone through a few replacements, my current SNES seems okay (other than it's not 100% Game Genie compatible, damn Nintendo and the lower cartridge slot voltage they applied to newer systems!)

                    In case my SNES dies on me, anyone know a fix for the green lines and Super Mario World black flashes? If such a fix exists, it'd save me having to go through more replacements!

                    Thank you

                        How nice you got your old SNES working again. If I still had mine, I'd be a really proud SNES owner (got mine in 1998). I only wish my mother hadn't made me sell it a few years later. Unfortunately, my N64 met the same fate and I don't think it'll be easy for me to find a SNES in the future. But I'll try.
