I definitely feel your pain. I had mine also in 1992 and when I went to the Navy in 1998, my mom threw it out in perfect condition. Not gave it to someone else but threw it out. You'll get a new one.

What is wrong with it, exactly? Does the red power light even light up when you turn it on? I may be able to help, I have experience fixing NES and SNES consoles.

mine fired a long time ago. You know what sucks about the SNES? There's no easy way to open it up.

I know the die hards are against emulators. But I had a spare computer that I wasn't using. So I wiped it clean and only put emulators on it. Next step is to build an oldschool arcade cabinet to put it in and buy one of there.

It's gonna be sweet when I'm done.

I'm sorry to hear about that. To be honest, I didn't get my first SNES until I was 15 which means that I never owned or played a SNES when I was little. If you want to get your SNES fixed, I know a place in Virginia that repairs game consoles like the SNES and they do have a website. I'll give you a link to the website, I always recommend this website to anyone since they have really good service and I never had any problems with them.

I'm from Richmond. Not sure if it's still there, but there used to be a shop that fixed up Nintendo/SNES stuff, but I haven't even checked to see if it's still there for years.

I was told by my aunt who lives in Virginia that it is located in a place called Fairfax.

They shouldn't be too hard to find for a reasonable price. Just look around, and don't be desperate to buy those half assed knockoff systems.

My daughter dropped my SNES at the first part of last year and I also got mine for christmas in 92 so I bought one off of Ebay for $50 and all is well.
