One of my favorite horror movies and favorite comic book movies! This Takashi Miike cult horror-comedy action crime movie is based on an extremely graphic Manga about a S&M and self-mutilation obsessed crime boss in Tokyo who seeks out the blood of a crybaby avenger who slices rapists and crooks with sharp shoes that can turn people into sushi.

Not for the faint of heart! this is the movie that could have been the link to modern American torture porn and a fave among horror directors especially Tarantino. Shocking, gory and funny as hell.

Did you cringe at any of the gore and torture scenes like the woman getting her nipples sliced off?

Do you think this movie is a link to the modern so-called Torture Porn movies? they owe themselves to this and Audition.

Basically the whole movie is quite schocking... full of psychotic-rape debauchery but also the acting was great with some added dark comedy. Cool.

I wish the manga would come here to the states, i hear it's more shocking than the film adaptation and near hentai. You know what hentai is?

^ Its use to refer pornographic or adult content anime/manga. But if I'm not mistaken in Japan has different meaning... weird/strange stuff instead of the sexual connotation we (westerns) give.

Sounds of the chain. I'm kind of interested in checking it out. I have audition, but never got around to watching it. This film sounds like a rougher version of 8mm with Nicolas Cage.

I remember this movie. I first saw it when the boss removes the pins from his Glasgow smile and his jaw drops, scared the piss out of me.

                  It's still a good flick.

Audition isn't that bad. I've seen much worse.

Anything Takashi Miike does is cringe-worthy. Just try and watch Visitor Q or Audition without flinching. Even comedies he has directed -like The Happiness of the Katakuris- are rather edgy.

VIsitor Q made me flinch and take a shower after seeing it.

Who thinks Nolan got ideas from this movie for his version of Joker? i mean the same smile, knife obsession and same blade in shoe.
