there was a time when i could'nt get that song out of my head in a good way, it was like a 70's collection of some kind and just could not stop listening to it, good pick or rather just mentioning it, i am not sure why it popular now maybe because, the younger generation is starting to relize that the older generations had some of the best music and that's why, it comes back through remakes on albums like the mandy moore's coverage, radio disney artisits and bandslam, and in a weird case britney spears...... just to name a few but really I would not think that these songs are old but a kind of genre of music.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of growing old is my constant surprise as to what younger generations make of stuff I enjoyed during my school years. It's like having a collection of 70's songs in 1979 and trying to predict what will still sound good to people 40 years in the future.

Speaking of which, do you remember Shannon?

            Here's one you weren't expecting!

From Loretta Lynn here's her biggest hit song and it sounds like she's expecting!

If there was a "righteous bro" award in the world of music, I would nominate Herb Alpert.
This dude is waay beyond cool and he's one of the class acts in the industry.

There was a lot going on in my life as 1979 drew to a close and, at first, all I remember about "Rise" was a bunch of people dancing on a beach on my television.

It didn't take long after that for me, and a lot of people, to see "Rise" as one of the great instrumentals of the 20th century.

One of my favorite songs about a devil woman, and her cat too.

Here's an old favorite from my bell-bottom pants wearing days in the mid 70's.

                                        Now that's what I call a list, lol. :D

Here's a song from my junior high school days that, for all the world, sounds like it could've come straight from Hanna Barbera's "Josie and the Pussy Cats" cartoon on CBS.

So howabout a little J5 style soul from 1971 just to get your day started right?

Well here I go again. Just call me Mr. Multi-Post.

Can't help it because I had to post a link to an old 70's favorite that I just ran into.

Here's the full-length version to a very unusual song that many overlook but I think it's good enough to be on "Best Songs of the Seventies"

                                          The Temptations - "Plastic Man" - 1973:
