Dude, someone born in 1999 won't remember the 90's. I would say to be classified as a 90's kid or a Generation Y-er, I think you would have to be born somewhere between 1980 and 1985 and experience most of your childhood in the 90's and be able to remember it for the most part. Same goes for Gen X-ers being born in the 70's remembering how great the 80's were.
I think I kind of disagree with you on that, I'm a mid- 80s baby (spring '86) and I think of childhood as elementary school...I started jr. high in '97 and high school in '00, my first concert was Savage Garden for crying out loud, my best friend's (same birth year) was No Doubt (jealous). I had a Donnie Walburg doll and my first celeb crush was Luke Perry, I used to kiss his picture every night and I quit watching BH 90201 when Shannen left, I saw Jurassic Park in the theater, my first tapes were NKOTB and Color Me Badd and my first CDs were TLC, Weezer (blue album), and Alanis Morrissette...and those born in '88-'89, they were entering jr. high in the late 90s, I consider them 90s kids...but it's anyone's call I guess
