I have a real passion for the earliest Star Wars merchandise; anything from between the years 1977 and 1980. Action figures, comics, trading cards, books, magazines etc. I've seen some pretty impressive collections of stuff here on the RJ forums, but most people seem to collect the more recent stuff (1995 onwards). Anyone collect the really retro stuff like me and has images to share?

I made a blog about my growing collection at: http://starwars77-80.blogspot.com/

Check it out and please let me know what you think.

The oldest thing I have is the comic Star Wars Droids #1 from 1986. It's pretty bad.

Still have a few of my figures from the original collection. What's left of my die-cast X-wing is around here. I had a 12-inch Luke figure barely holding together. Unfortunately, most of my old stuff is gone. I had a few of the Marvel comics, the soundtrack on vinyl, the novelization, the cantina and sandcrawler playsets. A few years ago I bought some old trading cards. The only audio I have is the soundtrack on cd, and I got the boxset of the NPR radio drama trilogy, although the Return of the Jedi part was made in the 90s. It did have some of the actors supplying the voices, like Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams. Kind of a strange thing was having John Lithgow provide the voice for Yoda and Ed Asner as Jabba the Hutt.

I checked out your blog and saw the part about the trading cards. Did you ever see the infamous X-rated C-3PO card? I think it's worth the same as the missile-firing Boba Fett.

Ha! Yeah, I've seen the explicit 3-PO card. It's funny hearing people involved come up with explanations for that.

I don't have much, but I do have a few Ben Cooper halloween costumes (Stormtrooper & Chewie), Burger King glasses, the first couple issues of the Marvel series, a cool 45rpm box with storybook records, All of the picture storybooks for each movie.

Most everything else is post-1994, when I first saw SW.
