I had to go with the Original Star Wars Trilogy. I was seven when my older brother took me to see Star Wars and it blew me away! Indiana was close, but "The Temple of Doom" weakened the franchise. Godfather I & II are standards by which all gangster movies made after are judged by, but Godfather III doesn't do anything for me. And all the LOTR movies did was make me blow an entire Sunday watching them all. Gee, maybe I should have voted for them.

What? No Rocky? He's coming out with his 86th movie soon.

the star wars saga does not count as trilogy. in either parts 1-3 (which dont belong on retro junk because they arent retro) or the classic 4-6. why? well, lucas wanted six parts. thats not a trilogy now is it? and considering that this is about retro trilogies, lord of the rings doesnt count either because it came out in the new millinia. ...duh...anyway, short of the back the future trilogy, indiana jones is still king. i mean, where else are we gonna get a monkey who hails hitler? an guy who gets all the babes? and the only guy who ever got lost in his own museum...? only jones can deliver! viva la indiana!

Lucas also wanted to make 9 films at one point. There's no point in trying to figure out what George's "vision" was (if indeed he ever had one), point is that there are currently two sets of triolgies, one dealing with Anakin Skywalker, one dealing with his son.
