I had "Where The Wild Things Are & other stories by Maurice Sendak" on cassette tape that I would listen to in the car with my parents all the time. It had music by Mozart, and was narrated by Tammy Grimes. It was great! Even though I don't have the tape anymore, I still have the case for it. To this day, I still love it. I love it so much that I ordered it through my local Barnes & Noble store. It's the same thing, only it's going to be on a CD instead of a cassette tape.

I remember that airports, car dealers and some shops gave cassettes away for free with both music and commercials.

I have maybe 10 tapes left and they were trickled down from my parents 100+ collection. I love listening to them (when I can) and crafting mixtapes. It's more personal than just making a playlist on iTunes. I bought three cars in a row that still had cassette players and I made mixes from vinyl, CDs and other tapes every week.

I've got a TON of cassette tapes, most are originals in the case with the covers.

I'd sell them in a heartbeat of anyone wants them... primarily 80's rock and metal bands.

              Metallica
              wasp
              twisted sister
              ratt
              poison
              megadeth
              overkill

theres just too many to list

I have over 200 rock tapes plus some random country etc from 80's and 90's. Going to sell or get rid some day but I can't ever seem to fully want to

One thing that always ticked me off with cassettes is that they never had that cover on the front to protect the tape like VHS or Betamax tapes did. That always seemed a little retarded to me :P

Never having been one to buy cassettes, I did however throw out a hundred or so of my dad's tapes some fifteen years ago. At that time, they were already over twenty years old.

I had a cassette of Eve 6's album with the fly on it. I wasn't really cool yet and get a CD. I would wear that tape out listening to the songs over and over again.

Last time I ever saw it, it was in the garage radio in the cassette player. I already checked it, it's gone. It would be a laugh and a great reminder of my childhood.
