I remember kids at my schools had that on the front of their spiral notebooks, done in eraser.
Anyway, thanks for the origin info.

*sigh* Yeah, I remember those. I would draw one with my name (Sara) on my notebook and sometimes my arms. Heh, funny times.

I can shamelessly admit that I felt like a cool kid when I learned the secret to drawing it properly.

My name is Shelly, so I annoyed the heck out of teachers writing that on all of my papers and school supplies.

I don't know where it came from and can only guess that it either came from inner city graffiti and made its way onto cd covers on hip hop or gangster rap cds??

                      What do you guys think?

The teachers wrote it on your papers? We would get in trouble at my school for writing it on anything since kids end up putting over 9000 of them all over the walls, lockers, sidewalks, etc.

I can't think of anything worth putting as a signature.

Wow. I didn't know it was worldwide. I saw people drawing them all the time in school. I tried drawing them a few times after seeing that many people were doing it, but I was never able to draw those things correctly. I eventually gave up on it. LOL.

Yeah it was kinda trendy back then. It was one of the coolest things to draw in the school walls/bathrooms...
