I had to watch that show in my 8th grade science class. I think there was another one too where they went to Mexico or something.

I remember watching it in the 5th grade. I think we were the only class watching it that year and I found myself hooked on learning about humpback whales and such. The crew did some pretty neat things, too.

I posted this a while back and got no response. Anyways, I had to watch it for 7th grade oceanography. I liked it. It killed class time. Although we never finished it.

Wasnt there a deaf kid in it and they had to hit the side of the boat to communicate with him, or something like that?

omg. voyage of the mimi, 7th grade science flashbacks. that was such a random show. ha, so many good times w/ this, most of it due to the entertainment value of ben affleck being stupid.
*That's it! I'm so gonna be like Angela Bower...except with better clothes.*

Yeah I remember that, we had to watch it in my 6th grade science class. It was wierd they showed an actual episode with a storyline then the next episode would be some scientific explanation about something in that episode done by one of the cast members, then the next episode would continue the actual storyline and so on. I remember having to do these worksheets along with it, which really kind of ruined the expierience for me.

I believe it was a deaf girl , and I think they knew sign language so I'm nor sure about the taping on the boat thing. Thier was also this one girl that I remember told the captain that she hitchiked thier, and he was all "really?" and the whole incident was never brought up again. (I think it was the captain might of been someone different though)

Hahahah Voyage of the Mimi, I watched this in fifth grade too. It seemed to me like there were two "seasons" of the show or something that we watched. The first that they were out on the ocean learning about whales. And then there was this one where they were stranded on an island after their ship wrecked and they had to use survival tactics like setting up evaporation tents for water. I remember they used to have this science lesson at the end of every show. The only one I actually remember was one about how they make stone statues with diamond saws and stuff.

Hahaha Ben Affleck before anyone knew who he was, loooong before Bennifer.
