yeah, i know what you mean about mace...i dunno, he just bugged me. had that "high and mighty" 'tude. mundi was just nicer, i guess that's why i kinda liked him.
the book's called "who's who in SW ep. 1". it's about....oh....the size of your hand, and it's full of info on a ton of different characters, especially the jedi council and the podracers. i know plenty about the racers, since i have the game on N64; if you want any extra info on them, well, you know who to call! (no, not ghostbusters...ha ha. me make joke!)

I got that game too! Isn't it like the best racer game!? Even more fun than like Gran Turismo and all like that. I dunno, the pods and having the choice to improve your own seems a lot of fun. that would be tight! i'd LOVE to make a racer and pilot. and yes, this one was done very well. i usually played as Ratts Tyrell(spell?), a Chihuahua/rat looking character, very short, and a high-pitched voice. annoying, but his pod was great, since it was the only one made w/out engine binders! it's all one piece.
still have the game, but never got to beat sebulba. i'm on the Boonta Eve race, but it's HARD!! i swear, you crash every 15 seconds, what w/ the turns and all that...
i've been to this arcade place that had a podracing game where the seat is anakin's pod, and you control the racer exactly how anakin does in the movie! gives you the real experience of driving one o' them suckers, and it's very difficult, but AWESOME!!!

I think I know who you're talking about. Was his pod like incredibly tiny? I prefer the smaller ones, because then you don't have that much of a chance of crashing like the other ones Did you get Sebulba?? I still don't know how in the hell you get him!!
I always play as Teemto Pagalies, Dud Bolt, Clegg Holdfast and recently Anakin Skywalker and sometimes Mars Guo (cos it's already so freakin fast).
Do you play the Boonta Eve thing after you've beaten the first two races? I don't think I'm up to that yetops: I dunno which I'm on but I keep getting insanely stuck on this snow one (it's got a lot of obstacles and turns and stuff it's crazy), and the popular podracer for that one is I forgot who I think Toy whatever his name is or something... I haven't played that game in so long because we left my N64 at my grandma's place. So she has it in her room. She plays games on it She is a huge video game freak.
OMG!! Did you see the deleted scenes for Ep. 1?? They show like just about every podracer when they're introducing them. They talk about them for a couple seconds each and stuff. It was cool!

sweet SW pics, by the way!
i haven't played "podracing" in a while, but now that we've been discussing it...i want to play it again!! the boonta eve race is REALLY hard! i haven't actually beaten it yet, so i don't have sebulba. i have played him before though...but he's not all that he's cracked up to be. he's big and bulky, but he is pretty fast...and he can shoot fire out of the sides of his engines! but you have to time it right, otherwise you wear it out...i think... can't remember... ops: 
the race itself is on the Galactic circut, the last one on the row. like i said, i haven't beaten it - i only play it on free mode to get the hang of it. it's way more complicated than it looks! and you get sand peeps shooting at you in one section! (you hear the familiar roar/cry, and then you see columns of sand shoot up where the bullets hit! if they hit you, you take damage/catch on fire)
on award money, all i can say is that it's a lot! but try your luck anywho!
the podracer of the guy i use (Ratts Tyrell) has a blue color to it. and it is kinda small...it's the engines that make it look bulky.
yeah, the race you're on...Toy Dampner is the champion's name. that race isn't so tough...but then that's coming from my perspective. compared to boonta eve, it's a cinch! just boost a lot, and take the corners w/ the Y button - it makes you slide around them a bit easier. once you beat it, you get Toy's racer; it's a real good one, but kinda fragile...like "Bullseye" Navior (the "fruity" guy w/ the balls stacked on his head, and jumps up and down clapping like a mental case)

i am SOOO sorry...i made a boo-boo! my character is not ratts tyerell...it's "Neva Kee". (slaps self in face a few times) ratts is the little guy in ep. 1 who's distracted in the cave as they're all racing, and when he looks back, he gives a weird little growling chirp just before he smacks into a rock pillar.

no, i'm sorry...man, i keep getting the wrong characters!!ops: Mars Guo was just one of those push-over types: loud-mouthed and always going after the ladies. he was hitting Ann Gella, on one of sebulba's Twi'lek masseuses, and Teemto Pagalies (who had the hots for Ann, as well) told on him. sebulba then sabotaged guo's racer, but when he saw guo still racing, he tossed a small bit of his pod back into guo's engine, thus destroying it. guo survived, though. (you see it in the movie)
the one I was talking about was Aldar Beedo...the dude w/ the long, skinny nose. he was hired by Wan Sandage to bump off sebulba, and previously, he had killed a big crime lord named Borzu Nale, whose son (Elan Mak) joined the race in order to kill Beedo. (look at Mak's name backwards, and that's his REAL name).
and yes, dud was hired by sebulba. he was to keep other pilots out of the way, and would get a bonus if he made them crash, and a further bonus if it was a fatal one! nice guy, sebulba!
i don't know how far you are in the game, but here's some tips on characters you DON'T want to use:
Ark "Bumpy" Roose - stupid racer, stupid pilot! he doesn't like anakin (for previously losing to the boy in an earlier race), and went to sabotage his racer...but didn't know which one was Anakin's, and screwed up Ben Quadinaros' instead! that's why Ben's doesn't work in the movie.
Mawhonic - his racer is mucho poopo, and he's a twit as well. he's out against sebulba, simply because he doesn't like Dugs. sebulba doesn't like him because mawhonic's race enslaved the dugs on the world malastare.

oh, and this is labeled as a cheat code in some areas, but on tournament mode, just as you're about to race, hold the Z button, and then press the race you want to do. you'll have a taunt-off w/ the track champion! but if your racer in the track champion, then it won't do anything. do one w/ elan mak...the guy sounds like he's trying to pull a donald duck/sean connery in huttese!! thanks so much!!!! this is all really good info and made the podracing scene much more understandable. damn it seems like everyone except for Anakin and Ben entered the race just to kill each other 
so Elan Mak's real name is Kam Nale?

yup. kam nale. and he never does get beedo back for killing his dad; some other bounty hunter takes beedo in. bummer!
Wan Sandage is the racer w/ the upside-down triangular head (which is green), and he's wearing goggles. in the game, he jumps up and down and waves...i think...he's a Devlikk, and they only live for about 10 years. Wan had been racing since he was 2, and he was about 6 at the time of the Boonta Classic race. see, he knew that sebulba was a threat (since the dug always won, most of the time by cheating), so he hired Aldar Beedo to axe him, so Wan would have a clear shot to the finish line. as we all know, beedo failed, but he and Wan stuck together for a while to try and get rid of the dug. soon, wan's lifespan was up, and beedo was w/ him as he lay on his deathbed. wan thought beedo would finish the job, but beedo told him that he was now going to serve SEBULBA!! how's that for ironic?! anywho, wan was shocked, and when he asked why, beedo ignored him and left. so wan died alone, w/out achieving his goal.
any other questions about these guys? i know a lot about the famous bounty hunters, too...like IG-88, Dengar (aka Payback), 4-LOM and Zuckuss, etc. i enjoy sharing what i know about SW w/ others!

Did they all work for Jabba when Vader asked them to go hunting for Solo and them? I also know there's a book that takes place about right after Vader gives them the orders, and the orange dude in the X-Wing pilot-looking uniform (his name totally left my mind) had a brawl with Boba Fett. I think Fett ends up killing him (they made it so obvious in the preview.. ) Anyway yea anything you know about anyone would be cooL!! well...it's not that i'm obsessed...ok, i admit, i do know more than an average, "normal" person should. but hey, you like a movie, you watch it a million times, right? 
beedo did what he did because he's a bounty hunter...and in the SW universe, there's never really been a "nice" bounty hunter, ya know? it was just his way of saying "no one can rule my life, and you're about to die anyway, bub." so, yeah...he's another one of those heartless ones...
ok, about the bounty hunter stuff: the reason vader called them all was mainly because he was desparate to get han out of the way, and he had all their numbers! in the book i have "tales of the bounty hunters", it gives the impression that they all started off looking for han, but eventually turned towards their own goals.
IG-88 was mainly looking for a way to upgrade himself to be the "bestest" killer droid out there, and he took a slight interest in the solo case, but then dropped out to go and connect himself w/ the new death star's super computer. yeah, kinda weird. in the n64 game, it shows dash rendar killing off IG-88 in a junkyard, but i think the book is the correct source, here. he "dies" when the 2nd death star explodes...duh...
4-LOM and Zuckuss's main goal was to get illegally grown lungs for Zuckuss, since he had an accident in a previous hunt and breathed oxygen (which is poisonous to his species). 4-LOM was actually thinking about deserting Zuckuss to try and study to become a Jedi (another weird fact - a droid jedi...he was hoping it would make him more human), but he stuck it out to see what would happen (he could always leave his "buddy". they join up on the hunt for han "just for kicks", considering it as mainly a side job. instead, they get tangled w/ a group of Rebels who are escaping from Hoth, and they end up rescuing the Rebels! for the most part, it was because the Rebs offered to treat Zuckuss w/out him having to get the illegal lungs. so in the end of their story, Zuckuss is nominated for an award for selfless bravery from the Rebs, and 4-LOM decides to stick it out further, also hoping that his dreams of being a Jedi may really come true.
so basically, the only three who were REALLY after solo were Bossk (the lizard alien in the orange jump suit), Dengar, and Fett.
Bossk had a grudge against solo and chewie because he had gone after them before, and they got away. his kind also cannot stand wookies, and the feeling is mutual for wookies. in this book, however, bossk joins up w/ a bounty hunter girl and her wookie counterpart, hoping to get solo and also the girl and her buddy (who have a price on their heads). So it’s a whole black-mail thing going on. But in the end, bossk gets captured, and the girl and the wookie go free after officially defecting over to the Rebellion.
Dengar (aka Payback) knew solo from way back. He and solo went swoop racing in the crystal lakes on Corellia, and han pulled a fast one to get ahead, which sent dengar crashing into a crystal tree. He was shipped to a medical frigate mostly in pieces, and the Empire put him back together and filled him full of droid parts. So he’s more man than machine (to use a well-known quote! J), almost like vadar. But when the empire fixed him up, they burned away the part of the brain that holds emotions, except for rage, fear, and loneliness, thus making him the perfect assassin (and giving him the additional title of Payback). Dengar’s story starts out w/ him on a hunt (in which he succeeds), and later being given the offer of hunting solo down. It’s become a mission of revenge on dengar’s part, since whenever he finds his quarry, he imagines that it’s solo. And yes, he’s a bit eccentric.
Unfortunately for Dengar, solo gets away (as usual) each time the assassin spots the millennium falcon, so dengar goes on a wild goose chase, in which he falls in love w/ a girl (complicated story, I’ll type it up later), and even saves a badly burned boba fett from the sarlacc pit! Ironic twist, since earlier fett sabotaged dengar’s ship just to get at solo first once vadar let them go. But yeah, dengar’s another hunter that eventually joins up w/ the Rebellion!
As for Boba, he’s just your average bounty hunter. He’s out to make his money, and catch the infamous solo on his own! His story in the book starts out when he was a teen, and how he became the guy everyone feared. He wore the armor not just for memory’s sake, but also for the fact that it protected him well, and it hid his un-handsome features. Amazing to think that the “great” boba fett was self-conscious! And of course, later on, he got new stuff to hide his hideous burns from the sarlacc, since he’d been in there for at least 2 weeks before dengar found him. In the end of his story, he goes after solo one more time…but I won’t spoil it for you. (besides the fact that it’s been a while since I’ve read it and I can’t remember all of the ending…ops: )
Anything else? hey, you’re a SW fan; you probably know some stuff that I don’t! so you share for a while…I feel like I’m hogging the conversation!!
I don’t know much about the comic books, so don’t ask about characters from there (unless they’re from ep. 1-6)…I can let you in on different things from the “old” movies, though. I know plenty about those, as well as a bit from the newer ones, too.
Remember the white-skinned creepy lady in ep. 1 w/ the red ponytail and the long fingers? She’s a jedi hunter who feeds off of their essence (kinda like on “the dark crystal”). There’s another dude like that in “a new hope”, although he’s not as recognizable. Think back to the cantina section w/ luke and obi-wan; remember the guy slurping out of what looks like a long needle? WOw this is really helpful info. I have a little mini-bust of Zuckuss! So Boba Fett survives?? Dang ...... wow he's ugly Weird. Nah, I mainly know bits and pieces, like most of the Clone Wars in between movies, and a little about several years after episode 6. My knowledge is scattered all over the place What did you want to know specifically?

yeah, i'm about the same as you, really...i've got a couple books that are set around the time of the Solo twins and so on. they're pretty interesting...
just throw something out for me, and we can begin a new discussion! whenever i go into explaining things, i always feel bad because i go into such detail. i'm a writer, so that's some of my "problem". i'm actually planning on making a SW book of my own, set after ep. 6 and all that. i haven't really written anything solid down yet, but who knows, maybe i'll see it on some shelf in Borders someday...
i've got a book right now that i'm almost done w/ anyway, so the SW one might wait for a bit...
manga...isn't that the stuff kinda like japanese anime? if so, I LOVE THAT STUFF!!! i'm an artist, too, and i love drawing anime stuff.

Boba Fett plays a prominent role in the miniseries Dark Empire, where it is revealed that he has survived the Sarlacc and continues his hunt for Han Solo
that sounds like my "bounty hunters" book w/ the story about Boba. in the end of THAT story, he faces off w/ solo on a "dark and stormy night"... i don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it, so i won't go into detail...unless you want me to...
