Hi, I have only recently joined retrojunk.com and was hoping to become one of the other writers in the Writer's Corner. Straight to the point, I am a die-hard Star Wars fan. I do nothing but practically eat, drink, sleep Star Wars. To some this may be ridiculous, absurd, what have you. For me, and perhaps others who share my view, Star Wars is more than just a series of six films, and I was hoping to write an article explaining and exploring this. I've always enjoyed writing, journalism, and thought this would be a fun and beneficial way to introducing myself to the hobby, as well as getting right into the depths of why Star Wars connoisseurs might exist. I wanted to know what you thought of this idea, and I hope to perhaps get some insight to help with my article (I've already started somewhat).

Thanks :D

hey, sewage. i'm a newbie too! and i'm a star wars fan. i've grown up w/ the movies...in fact, i could probably quote you most of the funny parts and stuff.
i'm a die-hard, but i don't go to any of the conventions, or anything like that. i mean, if i got free tickets to it, then i'd do it...
but, yeah, i know a good deal about the different characters and stuff.
i'd love to do a discussion thing about star wars! mainly because not a lot of people that i know would want to!
here's a topic for you: one of the coolest jedi is in episodes 2 and 3 - kit fitsto - alien w/ dredlock tentacles and big, black glossy eyes. the dude is tight!!

Seems a bit scholarly for a fun-lovin' little joint like Retro Junk. Just write an article on the Star Wars Holiday Special, that's always good for a laugh. :D

And Kit Fisto is awesome. Especially since he was screwin' Aayla Secura (the hot blue Twi'lek Jedi).

Yay for the n00bs!
Me neither about the convention thing. Every time I find out about them it's like two weeks later. And now's not any more of a better time, either... I don't think Italians are as enthusiastic about Star Wars as we are in the States :?
Kit Fisto IS awesome! I got so angry when Palpatine just destroyed him like nothin  Do you read any of the books? He was way cool in Cestus Deception :D And thanks a lot for your help and Daniel85 also.

The Cestus Deception was pretty cool, but all the political crap bored the hell outta me.

Do you read the comics? Kit was pretty kick-ass in those. There's one where some Jedi are in a battle on either Kamino or Mon Calamari (can't remember), and Aayla is about to drown so Kit gives her some mouth to mouth that lingers a bit past resuscitation. Their affair is just hinted at throughout the series, but it's pretty interesting to see that the Jedi were not as in control of their primal urges as they were supposed to be.

I agree about Cestus. It was also weird about the whole Jangotat thing... it was more strange than nice :? Unfortunetly I've only red the first two or three issues of Rogue Squadron, but, no, I haven't had a chance to read the comics. That's awesome about Kit and Secura! It's cool to hear someone who is always so warrior-ish and very much into who he is to have an urge so forbidden but even he falters.... which comic is this??

Do you know what ever happens to Asajj Ventress??? I've almost red all Clone Wars and one minute she's either a part of the book or briefly mentioned, then suddenly she's a thing of the past. It's driving me insane. Which book does she die/dissappear in??

The 'first kiss' is in an issue of SW Tales, I forget which, and the romance is occasionally touched upon throughout the Clone Wars issues of the monthly title SW Republic.

As for what happened to Ventress, her last hurrah was in the miniseries SW Obsession. It was about Obi-Wan's obsession with tracking down Ventress and turning her to the light. He believed she was not truly evil, just misguided. In the final issue, she is supposedly killed and loaded onto a transport to be taken for a funeral. The issue ends with her entering the bridge and telling the pilots to take her somewhere far away from the war. Apparently she was just in a Sith meditation or something.

thanks to all you folks who like Kit as well...yes, i agree w/ "sewage", Kit died too quickly!! i was w/ some buddies when i saw it, and i called out (in the theatre) "Aw, that's not right!!" but at least he fought longer than the other guys, anyway!
and did anyone notice: in the 2nd movie, who's the first jedi to run into the mass of battle droids in the arena ahead of all the rest of the jedi? our man Kit!! :D
i've even gone so far as to buy a little toy action figure of the dude...it's kind of like a cartoon character version, and the lightsaber swings in his hand. it was so cool i had to buy it!

Yeah, there's a Depa Billaba, but it came in a multipack with some other Jedi Council members.

Check it out here: http://www.rebelscum.com/sw03ssJHC2.asp

It came out a few years back, so it's not in stores anymore.

oh, ok...i know who depa is. i remember reading about her; she was found as an orphaned child by mace windu, and mace raised and trained her since he sensed that she had a real connection w/ the force.
kiadi mundi is kinda cool, too. i felt really bad for him when he was killed. :( he came from a peaceful, paradise planet, and he's got a strong connection w/ the force, so much that he can sense things on the dark side! (i have a little "info" book about the different characters/jedi from ep.1. i can type up other info about other jedi, if anyone has questions. :D

Depa was Mace Windu's student, then she became a master, and was on the Jedi Council in the first episode. In the book Shatterpoint she basically like goes nuts without going into great detail and such  She ends up going to jail I think, I dunno for sure. I'd like to have a toy of her though just because of that book. For some reason I like her more because of it :? Anyway when you see her in the movie, she's like sort of Middle Eastern/Asian-ish-looking (without trying to sound offensive if this does), and has like purple eye shadow, with two golden dots on her forehead. They're supposed to represent something but I've forgotten what; bad memory :oops: And she's also the only other Jedi, I believe, who has been able to master, if not close, Vaapad, which was invented by Mace Windu. It's a very dark form of lightsaber dueling; you're just on the line between light and dark side. She's cool! :D

the book's called "who's who in SW ep. 1". it's about....oh....the size of your hand, and it's full of info on a ton of different characters, especially the jedi council and the podracers. i know plenty about the racers, since i have the game on N64; if you want any extra info on them, well, you know who to call!
