I think I'm older than a lot of the members here(28), but surely some of you have jobs right? If so, what is it and do you enjoy it?

I myself have a pretty cool job. I'm an artist in the video game industry. Been doing it for over 8 years now. It's a really great job. Besides the obvious plus of working on video games, there's a lot of small perks. For instance I haven't shaved in like 2 weeks. :D Try getting away with that in some "real" job. Also, I'll be in LA for most of next week at E3. Just playing games and getting drunk.

I have a part-time job working at my local newsagency. I have to get there at 4:30 AM to help set up the shop and then load my car with rolled/wrapped newspapers and drive around delivering them for 2 hours.

It's pretty good pay, plus I get a stipend for petrol (which I only use about half of, so it's extra money for me :P). I like the hours cos it gets me up and leaves the whole day free. If I weren't getting up to work, I'd probably be sleeping in till like midday, as I'm taking this semester off from university.

Sounds like you really enjoy your job, GrimmBilly. That's great. I'd like to write for a gaming magazine one day, so I'd get to go to E3 and all that jazz.

Right now I wash windows for a guy who own the company called Mr. Sgueegee (I still laugh at the name and my boss for picking it:lol: ). I go all over the City of Bismarck cleaning the widows of homes and buisnesses. It's mostly just a summer job since I'm still a full time college student. But it's not too bad for a job, I get to work like a freelancer. I can work any day I want and I get paid 40% of the jobs that I do which comes out to about 8-10 bucks and hour. And I enjoy working with the people I work with. It's not something I plan to do for the rest of my life, but right now i don't mind doing it 8)

I had the same job when I was 19, well the delievery part anyway. I didn't get paid for the fuel though :(

I couldn't handle getting up at the buttcrack of dawn though. Sleeping in is good.

I get to sleep til at least noon (usually). Then I might go around town and fix a couple sound systems in clubs or churches. Or I might go to a studio and record a band....been working on a record lately that's sounding frickin' great. Or I might have to go run sound for some live show somewhere. This weekend I gotta drive to Forrest City, Arkansas to do a live gospel recording. And for the last couple weeks I've been installing new gear in Al Green's studio (that's pretty cool for the resume!).

My weeks are random configurations of days like that. I never really know what's coming...continuous confussion. But it's fun and I don't always have to be sober.

                Oh...I don't have to shave either![/i]

I am a real estate agent in North Florida. I get to pick my own hours, meet new people and view some cool houses. Another sort of plus is that I can write off some Mileage, my cell phone bill, food with clients, etc.

Plus its not bad money for someone my age (21). :D

You should get Photoshop or Painter.

I'm sure you can afford them with all that strippin' cash

My husband and I own a small construction buisness. I work for maybe thirty minutes to an hour a day doing billing and answering the occasional phone call. Around tax time my days get long but that's only because I choose to do our taxes myself.
I don't know about you, Miss Kitty, but I feel so much... yummier

Ah, MSPaint art certainly brings back memories from earlier days of the Internet, or the 'web' as people called it before that became a dorky word.

I would like to think that many of us here do have a job. Most of us are old enough to remember things that people born in the 90's have no clue about unless they see a reproduction. If you're old enough to remember what happened between 1981 onward, I'd say you've been working for at least 12-13 years (unless you're in between jobs or got fired). Shucks, many of us are on this message board while were at our place of employment. I work as an Adminstrative Assistant at the college I graduated from 4 years ago. Starting grad school in August (I'll still be working full-time because I can't afford not to work). By the way, I'll be 28 in 12 days.

I was a QA analyst for many years until I got a gig as a production artist for a video game company. I'm currently a freelance graphic designer and still enjoying it. Telecommuting does have its ups and downs: You save time and money, but spend hours locked away in a dark room without real social contact. I usually hit the conspiracy boards by 1:00am.
