Dude, I fucking love Ray Stevens. What are your favorite songs by him? Mine are Ahab the Arab (original studio version), Harry the Hairy Ape, and The Streak.

I like a lot of the classic country, such as George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr....but this new stuff like Jason Aldean and whatnot....It's just pop with a southern accent.

Can't stand it, really. Find it way too generic.

              Anyone here like George Strait?

And I don't mean like in "that" way.
I can't think of anything worth putting as a signature.

I don't like country. But my granddad has a huge collection of country western tapes & records.

Well, country really isn't what it used to be. It's gotten so commercialized and anyone who can wear a cowboy hat and sing in a country accent can be a country star now. All the songs sound the same, and it's usually about small towns, pickup trucks, and redneck girlfriends. The only difference you can tell between country stars is the slight variation of difference in their cowboy hats.

Yeah, it is very gimmicky like rap music.

If you substitute ghetto and foodstamps for doublewide and whisky.

It's worse than rap music. You might almost have a chance of identifying a rap artist if you hear a song, it's much more difficult with country because it literally is all the exact same except for a scant few.

Ryan Adams is pretty good. Heartbreaker was a great album, but that's the only one I've heard so far.

There are maybe a handful of country artists out there still keepin it real...Ryan Bingham is amazing...but he's in between country and folk and therefore nowadays that makes him a folk artist...even though it's just like The Outlaws lol.

It all depends on what your taste in music is.

Do you really need people to tell you? Just flick it on the radio and you'll be hearing that horse-shit within seconds.

I hate most modern country, i can't stand it when people say stuff like "i like everything except country" because when they say that thrir most likely judging it off of most modern country singers, when the probably haven't heard much of the actual great stuff.

When 99% of something sucks you can usually call it a whole without apologizing for the remaining 1%.

Only if there's someone singing about how his/her dog died is country music that bad. :P

You got that backwards. Country came long before Rock. It stated with the Irish. In the 1800s, when they got to america, their music started spreading. Before long, it became Bluegrass, then Jazz, then in the 50s, it became Rock and Roll.

It's rap that all sounds the same. Except for Snoop, and Eminem, and a very few others, you can't really tell the difference.
