Jason43 9 years 6 months ago Posts: 1553 Account Disabled	Couple things to know before you post.... -Retrojunk does not and will not offer full episodes of tv shows, video game roms, songs, music videos etc to download. This would be a lawsuit waiting to happen, so DON'T ASK! --Search before you post! -How to use the retrojunk search feature: 1. Click "search" at the top of the page. 2. Type whatever info you have on the show in question in the box. Example: if you are thinking of "that show where the kid turned into a red sports car", type 'boy' and 'car', 'teen' and 'sportscar' etc into the box. 3. Check 'search for all terms' 4. Click "submit". Yes, its that easy. If you get no results, then post your question. You're a big kid now, I know you can do it. -How to upload an avatar: First off, you will need a picture either saved on your computer that you can upload, or you will need the url to link to one on another site. There is also a size limit on the avatars of 80x80 pixels. If the picture you want to use is bigger than that, you will need to downsize it to 80x80. Most photo editing programs will let you do this. If you don't have a photo editing program, there are several free downloads at download.com. 1. From the of the forum main page, click on "user cp".. 2. Click on "edit avatar". 3. If uploading from your computer: Click the browse button and select your picture from the drop menu. Click submit. There is a size limit of 80x80 pixels. If your image is larger than that, you will have to downsize it using a photo editing program. If using a url: Go to the site containing the picture you want to use. Right click on the picture and select 'properties'. Copy the url for the picture and return to your profile/avatar settings page. Paste the url in the space for uploading an avatar from a url. Click submit. 4. Enjoy your new avatar.

System 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 74809	Not being a smart a**, but in regards to "lawsuits waiting to happen", how are downloads of tv episodes different from commercials? You're offering properties of Pepsi, Nintendo, etc. for viewing on this site free of charge. Why would you not be allowed to upload an old episode of Silver Spoons as an example?

Because of the way copywrite works. Airing a commercial does not decrease the value of the commercial. It actually increases it's value. Entire episodes however, decreases the value of the show to marketers. After all, if you could download all the episodes of Thundercats, would you be as likely to fork out $50 for the DVD set, if they were the same quality? I would, because I have both, but for the vast majority, they won't pay for what they can have for free. So, by putting up entire episodes, it devalues any future DVDs that get put out. Which means the companies that hold the rights to those episodes will sue our asses for making them lose money. Commercials do not drop the sales of DVDs. Intros do not drop the sales of DVDs. Full episodes DO* drop the sales of DVDs. And droppe sales = lawsuits.

Kind of what I was thinking, because someone watching an old McDonald's commercial might say, "Hey, that puts me in the mood for a Big Mac." Therefore MickeyD's makes a few bucks with no out-of-pocket money to them. And because the ads aren't commercially marketed products (like a dvd), I assumed there's no real value assigned to them. But have you guys dealt with any tight wad companies who don't like what you're doing? I love the memories so keep it up .

MY first topic was blocked and I was told to put it on video games and wat do ya know the same person BLOCKED IT!!! There was no abuse AT ALL!
