As far as I can remember, the NES had a Zapper and the SNES had a Super Scope 6. Now, how come the later systems (N64 and Gamecube) doesn`t have light guns?

A gun for the 64 would've been cool. And a gun could've worked out well on the Gamecube for a new type of Resident Evil game or something. H
House of the Dead on Segas Dreamcast was awsome, the gun just added to the excitement.

i would guess nintendos targets a younger age group then xbox and ps2 that they would try to get away from things like guns...but if they wanted to get more older gamers back into there market that would def be a cool idea.

I think that because of all the school shootings and stuff recently, it would be a risky move to make a light gun now. Besides, the Zapper and Super Scope weren't really that popular back in the day. They probably think it's not lucrative enough to be worth it.

It'd be cool if Nintendo put out an "Action Set" on the Revolution's release, with the console, two controllers, a light gun, and a Mario/Duck Hunt 3D game.
I know it'd never happen, but it damn well should.

I have a question. I know some people tweak old games or make their own roms. Is it possible to make one that could use a laser gun? Is there a laser gun you could hook up to the PC? That would be nice.

on IGN.com they show the NES< SNES, N64 games ready to be downloaded once the revolution is up and running...and superscope 6 and battleclash ar eon there...two super scope games. So you can bet there will be a peripheral for classic shooting games on the Rev.

They haven't used light-guns for a while because there hasn't been any need. Not enough developers wanting to port arcade shooters to consoles.
Was there one for XBOX by the way?
