I picked it up. Very "Dirt" sounding. I likes.

i think the band really works well with William DuVall.. i like the fact that he's not trying to sound exactly like Layne, yet he still makes those harmonies sound like Alice in Chains.. He's been playing with Jerry for a while.. at least since the Degradation Trip tour in 2002

Which was an awesome fucking show, btw

I'm very excited about the new era of this incredible band

Old story: Back in 1990, I was going to see Anthrax/Megadeth/Slayer. Their opening act was Alice in Chains. They sucked ass, and promptly got 'Fuck you'ed off stage. I think they performed for maybe about 20 minutes, before the audience turned on them. Before they left, they told us to go fuck ourselves, and gave us the finger. Never was an Alice in Chains fan.

It's definitely not for everyone, but they have evolved a lot since 1990.. It really just got better and better over time.. Dirt and their self-titled album were masterpieces

You just don't pair Alice in Chains with those three metal bands. The two musical types aren't very compatible.

 i was gonna say that.. They were a little heavier back then, but they still shouldn't have been in that lineup.. I like Megadeth and I can tolerate Anthrax, but I fucking hate Slayer

Anthrax was great. This was when Joey Belladonna was still with the group. So, they were great. Really interacted with the audience.

I honestly had no intention of giving this new album a listen. I initially thought it was pretty lame of them to go on and continue as Alice in Chains without Layne Staley. However, after listening to the new album, I can say I was wrong.
