So, besides GI JOE, (and G1 TF stuff), Film (Movies) are my second interest.
I like mostly flicks that are the first of their kind, or have some sort of important contribution to their genre. That being said, of course my personal collection is filled with stuff like: "Die Hard", "Close Encounters", "Kill Bill", "Star Wars", "Tron", et al. But, I will watch almost anything. My least favorite genres are Period Films, like "Pride & Prejudice", low brow PG-13 'comedy', and, horror. Now, I love the first Halloween, Jason, Freddy, ect., BUT I dislike the 'new' breed of 'Horror' films. Movies that basically stress me out...or is that the point?
I am repulsed, and attracted...Secretly I must be a visual-sadist or something because I will FORCE myself to suffer thru a movie that makes my back hurt from tension!
A couple weekends ago, (..or a month maybe? IDK..) I 'watched' the flick 'The Strangers' and that was (for me) a little intense...even though I was watching it at double speed most of the time..the movie was a Manson like statement.
    Anyhoo, I've healed now.
Sooo... It's time to pick the scab with a little fingernail of a remake - the 2009 version of 'Last House on the Left'. Of coure most of you have either seen this already, or know of it, but I feel it's important for me to document my experience. (Why?)
Now before I sign off to watch the movie (Blu Ray Unrated via Netflix) I want to talk about the ORIGINAL 'LHOTL'. Ew. I can't tell you what a horrible time I had watching it (This was earlier this year BTW). I got it from the PUBLIC LIBRARY of all places..I also sped thru it on double time. Yet, I was still just freaked out from the sadistic tone. Honestly, the 'revenge' section, (the third act) was in no way (to me) as brutal as the violence from the first part. But hey, like the trailer sez: "KEEP TELLING YOURSELF; It's only a movie..It's ONLY a MOVIE! IT'S ONLY A MOVIE!!"
OK, so I will NEVER watch it again, but I've 'watched' it, so there. Crossed off the list of 'Stuff I think I need to watch'. Nice.
And now....I'm off to watch what I am sure will be a nasty, but PALE comparison to the original... "LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT"...I'll be posting a follow-up later and welcome your pre and post comments. Here we go.... :(

Yeah..no biggie. There was one rough scene with the daughter, but over all, my tension was like, a 6. I liked it when the parents started kicking arse, but I pretty much ignored the rest of it to type this..nice hammer work. Anyway, so maybe NEXT time I'll post about a movie I actually WANT to watch. Hrm.
