What I *don't* like is that they have apparently changed the story.

If you watch the trailer real closely, you'll see that when they chase him and burn him, he is pleading his innocence, and saying "What do you think I've done?"

This paints this version of Freddy Kruegar as someone who is possibly wrongly accused and ends up seeking vengeance.

By contrast, the original Freddy was evil to the core. He delighted in his own sickness. In the "Nightmare" TV series, when they burn him alive, Robert Englund cackled and laughed as he burned, telling them all that he would be back and no one would be safe. He never denied doing the things they blamed him for.

So, despite the reboot and all, I feel this Freddy doesn't come off as evil.

    Also, he looks horrible.

Thats the vibe I got from the trailer.

It sucked big time to me. Others may feel different, but I thought it sucked. Who did the casting for this film. Seems like they hired random people walking into wallmart. Jack haley doesn't do for me as Freddy at all. He doesn't really even seem to get into it until the end of the film. The movie is less violent than the original and seems toned down. I don't want to go into more detail because I don't want to spoil it for anybody who has not seen it yet. No were near as creepy as the original. I almost fell asleep 3 times. Save your money people. Wish I had went to see kick ass instead.

i don't like the way freddy's face in this movie looked, he looked like the frog from gullah gullah island or the ants from antz.

That was my very first complaint since the trailer. I think I'll wait for rent/streaming/Torrents...

This movie was so bad it made "Rob Zombies: Halloween II" look "Oscar" worthy!

                Fucking sad.

Yeah it was pretty lame. I wish they would bring wes craven back to do any sequels as I'm sure there will be since it made a decent amount of money not counting cash from dvd sales.

Haley definitely brought very little personality to the role.

They made Freddy a child molester.

original plan or not they makes him less scary.

I thought he was supposed to be a child molestor in the first movie?

Well I haven't seen it yet and apparently I haven't missed much. I guess a visit to Torrents/direct downloads is the way to go.

Okay, rather than bitch about the negatives of the remake, I'll just talk about the positives.

I thought there were lots of scary moments, a pretty good story, good nightmare sequences, great death scenes, and a lot of blood.

This was a remake that I actually DID enjoy. :)

What blood are you talking about bro? I though is was very light on the blood and less bloody than the original film.

If anything, the scene where the guy got killed in the restaurant had a good amount of blood. But yeah, the original had more.
