I've seen the trailer and I'm not really feeling it so far. I hate the voice of the actor playing freedy,it just sounds horrible. Maybe this will be like star trek and I'll still prefer the original, but like the remake as well.

The biggest obstacle will be convincing people that one of the Bad News Bears can take over for Robert Englund. It's not the same as the Halloween/Friday the 13th/Texas Chainsaw remakes, since the main character of those films were silent and wore a mask. Haley's really gonna have to put in an effort to keep this one from being laughed out of theaters.

The new guy playing Freddy sounds kind of like Robert Englund, only a little more thicker. But I'll give the remake a try.

I'm curious, but does anyone else notice that Freddy's face looks almost CGI at the end of the trailer?

Not all remakes of the horror genre suck, what about The Thing, The Fly, The Blob, Hills Have Eyes, Dawn of the Dead, Cat People, Invasion of the Body Snatchers?

Ill still give it a try, despite there being a new Freddy.

Dude doesn't sound any thing like Englund. He sounds like he got a sandwich or a dick in his mouth when he's talking.

Now that I think about it, he doesn't sound like Englund. He doesn't look much like him from the face either. Also, Nancy's house doesn't look anything like the one in the original.

It isn't so much the actor that's putting me off (he was convincingly menacing as Rorschach in "Watchmen," so I don't have a problem with him).

What I *don't* like is that they have apparently changed the story.

If you watch the trailer real closely, you'll see that when they chase him and burn him, he is pleading his innocence, and saying "What do you think I've done?"

This paints this version of Freddy Kruegar as someone who is possibly wrongly accused and ends up seeking vengeance.

By contrast, the original Freddy was evil to the core. He delighted in his own sickness. In the "Nightmare" TV series, when they burn him alive, Robert Englund cackled and laughed as he burned, telling them all that he would be back and no one would be safe. He never denied doing the things they blamed him for.

So, despite the reboot and all, I feel this Freddy doesn't come off as evil.

                        Also, he looks horrible.

When does this come out? I figure they'll mess it up,but I'm still kind of interested in seeing it.

I'm holding out hope because I LOVE Jackie Earle Haley...he's a fantastic actor and can carry the weight...but the trailer perplexes me to the story...it's just...PERPLEXING!

I will probably still see it.

Even if "Kelly" from "Bad News Bears" is the star.

                                I never liked the concept...but remaking this is a guaranteed 100 million+ and a shitty movie..fuck Hollywood

We can't say that's it's going to be shitty just because it's a remake dude. As someone mentioned already their have been a number of good remakes in history. Maybe it will be good. I just hope that they story is dark and takes the franchise back in the direction of the first elmstreet movie rather than the more comical sequels. Not that I didn't enjoy most of the sequels.

I heard they're making Nancy a Goth this time around; as long as Hot Topic doesn't try to monopolize on this, I'm looking forward to that.

Doesn't look too bad but i did loved Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003, Friday The 13th was hardly a remake but just another sequel of the series disguised as one.

Are they planning on remaking the sequels if this one sells well?

They should've casted Johnny Depp as one of the adults in the remake. Of course, he's too old to play one of the teens again.
