Hey everybody I just wanted to tell you that Nickelodeon will have a new channel coming in '06, called Nickelodeon Rewind, and it's also said that they will play every single show from Nickelodeon strating from the early 80's, to the late 90's. People have been talking about how Nickelodeon was going to do this for many years, and it hasn't happened yet. Don't believe these sorts of rumors until you actually see it announced on Nickelodeon's website or on their channel. Cartoon Network is the ONLY channel that I know of that has a "retro" spinoff channel with Boomerang. Ever since they launched, people have been saying every channel and their grandmothers were going to launch an oldies channel, but it hasn't happened yet. One big thing that tells me this is made up is that they told you to come here. We aren't getting any kind of "behind the scenes" news on this sort of things. We get our news just like everybody else, by reading the announcements that get made. If Nickelodeon launches a retro channel, we'll hear about it from Nick themselves at the same time you do. Least I don't think we've got any Nickelodeon network execs on the site?

The first to be released was Clarissa and that was followed by The Adventures of Pete and Pete. They are supposed to be releasing other like Salute Your Shorts and Are you Afraid of the Dark sometime in the near future. I wish Nick would put out a retro channel but as for now all I can do is dream.

Yeah, but you have to realize that the market for this is pretty limited. Yeah, you want to see it, I want to see it, many people on this site would want to see it, but thats still only a few thousand people. Thats not enough support for a single show to survive off of, much less an entire network. Shows need hundreds of thousands of viewers to survive, entire networks need MILLIONS.

campbellsoup2307 8 years 10 months ago Posts: 518	i can guarantee there are MILLIONS of people that would want to see a nick rewind channel. every message board, forum ive been to that was related to nickelodeon, ive seen a ton of topics on how people miss the 80's/90's nickelodeon. i typed in nickelodeon on xanga and myspace searching for groups and just about everyone group says something like classic nick, the old nick, nick sucks now, the old nick was better, there was a ton of them. i am really into retro things (tv shows, movies, video games) and i talk about stuff like that at school and i dont how many times ive mentioned an old tv show on nickelodeon with someone and everytime i do i get the same responses, everyone misses it and everyone liked the old nickelodeon that i have talked to. i remember one time on the way home from school on my bus i heard these girls behind me talk about the old nickeldeon how it was so much better and a whole bunch of people started talking about it. thats just my school, a few websites, a few message boards, theres u.s. 50 states, many countries, 7 continents, the worlds population is like 6.5 billion (idk something like that) i guarantee anyone , that there are well over a million viewers that would love to see a nick rewind channel and even the younger viewers could see what a good tv show is really like, plus nickeldeon is a kids/teen network, so some of the people that have never got the chance to see these great tv shows will now have a chance and i can guarantee millions of those people will enjoy a network like nick rewind as well if we could ever get one. there are a lot of people in this world and billions of people in the u.s. alone, a channel like this if done right, i can guarantee it would be a success. i hope they do put out a nick rewind channel pretty soon. (if nickelodeon just looks at how the 2 dvd sets they put out,clarissa and pete and pete, sold. thats only 2 tv shows right there and if you look at my other topic it says that the pete and pete dvd outsold chappelles show season 2 dvd in the first week. once again thats only 1-2 nickelodeon shows.)

Not to mention there's places where they don't watch TV, much less ever heard of a TV." yeah i understand that, but thats only some people and some countries but i would say that the majority of the world watches tv/has a tv.plus if nickelodeon is successful, im sure if they make a classic/retro nick channel it will be way better,beleive me it would be a great idea.i guarantee there are well over a million people that would want this channel.
