I was never big on the Mary Janes or those caramel squares wrapped in clear plastic. Come to think of it, they're probably still sitting hidden away in my mom's antique jar to this day! lol
Oh yeah, and I used to like candy corn, but then it got too sweet for me so I stopped liking it when I got it in my bag.
I never got a toothbrush or fruit except for the occasional box of raisins which wasn't so bad. In fact, I usually came home with a huge bag of candy because I was one of the very few kids who trick or treated in the development instead of someplace where the houses were closer together. I don't want to brag, but it was pretty smart. All the old people were so happy to see trick-or-treaters after hardly seeing anyone that they let you take big handfuls of candy. I also got quite a few half-dollars and homemade treats from the older ladies that my parents knew as well. You just don't see that anymore, which is sad because cookies on Halloween always taste better. And speaking of bests and worsts, you would think that if it snowed on Halloween, it would be the worst ever, but for me that was my best Halloween ever.
