This is easily one of my favorite movies. I think its really very touching. I feel like I relate a lot to Max. We both had very grand ideas, the only difference is that he actually followed through with most of his.
It seems like for most of the movie, something tragic or touching or completely hilarious happens like every 5 seconds. It all is so genuine too.
There are just so many great little moments in this movie, like when Bill Murray's car slowly backs the groundskeeper back to the wall, or when Max is at the groundbreaking for the aquarium and tells the school reporter "I don't give a shit about the barracudas, but fuck it I'm building it anyways", or that little grayish kid that is just hanging around in the background all the time, or Mrs. Cross' note in the library book, or the ubiquitous use of the word "handjobs"... I could go on and on.
