Is anyone going to see Tim Burton's new film when it hits theaters?

I'm not sure. Last time I saw one of Tim Burton's stop motion anitmation films (Corpse Bride) I was very disappointed. I'll wait to see what the reviews and friends say.

I might or might not. I never really go to theaters that much anymore but I can't decide whether 9 looks good or not. I guess I'll just wait and rent it. I don't know yet.

I'm totally going to the midnight screening :D

And fret not dear MattNash. Timmy Burt isn't even directing it. He's just a producer. Shane Acker's the director (the same who made the short this movie is based on)

Burton is just the producer. But all the same, the film looks very interesting. Could be a sleeper hit like Coraline.

9 was pretty sweet. The whole settign is dark, unsettling, even shows corpses of people here and there, and nice steampunk elements are present. A lot of nice action scenes, nice voice acting and a handful of quirky characters. The story does well but it wasn't as deep as i expected it to be. It felt a little like point A-point B and the destinations didn't feel too far away, but the mecha scenes are the real seller.

better to see it in theaters than spend 15 bucks for a DVD. Also i saw the original short just now, didnt realize the origin since i wiki'd it too.
