Ok, This game was on the original NES. It starts with picking characters in a house with an overhead view. Each character had their own skills. There was a plump dragon character to. You would then exit the house and go up to a ladder that takes you underground. (This part of the game and the rest were side scrolling) In the background of the place is a huge castle. Underground had tons of monsters and the game was especially difficult. Certain areas you couldn't reach. My brother and I would only play with the dragon because none of the enemies attacked you when you were him. After mush decending into the ground, our dragon character would come accross a blue crab boss. When you beat him, there was an odd warp and you go back to the house.
Other things about it were that one code lets you be a new character in the house and you could hear game music from the painting.
Oh, and the booklet listed all enemies and monsters in graphic pictures. Please help me remeber. This is driving me nuts.

I remember it, just not the title. Nintendo Power had a long article on it. The last boss was a Dragon, and you had to do something stupid to kill it. Anyway, the protagonists were a family, and they had a "dragon" that looked more like LoLo. Each character had a different ability or weapon. Platformer, very early game, simplistic. Character sprites were 16x16, i think...
