NOBODY will remember this game for the playstation!

    TOMBA!

it was an EXCELLENT GAME! yes, for playstation, which isnt that old to begin with, but if ur a gamer, u sympathize with me as the video game industry is growing exponentially and it now seems like the ps1 is a nostalgic memory....

but seriously, that game rocked! it was a beautiful sidescroller/rpg game that combined cutting edge dvd properties and juiced all the power out of that 64 bit drive. The best part were the movie scenes, as the animation was done by professional japanese animators.

      ....?

I thought PSOne's were 32-bits... N64 is the only console out there which used 64... (in the last 11 years anyway ;))

Anyway, I still got the demo for Tomba 2, I should find this game sometime :)

tomba 2 was okay, and YES! the psone DID use 64 bit, bcuz squaresoft (currently square enix) answered nintendo with it. alot of people dont remember, but the 64 came out first. this was in japan, to say the least, so they BOTH got released here at the same time.

          wut...

PSX is a 32 bit system, so is Saturn.

And Tomba is not obscure. Everybody and their mother was plugging it.

i call ur bullshit right there, raijinZ, because i know for a fact that it didnt push in time so it got concalled the year it was made. AT LEAST, thats true on the american front. however, tomba did great japan and so a sequel came out. sony tried to save the market for tombas by releasing that as well ion america, but the same result happened again. so tomba did get alot of attention....i made it a quest to find out why.

apparentally, everyone was playing MYST, since they were both released the same year.

            so there.

God, stop with that mangled english.

They were both released, they were both heavily promoted both in print advertising and many positive reviews. I bought both.

And they were released a year and a half apart. The original was released 6 months after the Japanese version was released, and there was only a two month gap in the release dates of part 2.

i didn't like the talking to villagers parts. i think tomba 2 had more of that. they also had some lame ass side missions like finding a boys dog, or make the flowers happy.

but yeah they were fun while they lasted.

                    .......

i stand corrected, raijinZ, i do apologize. i had my info mixed up. however, my source (which is currently not on the internet) from some gaming magazine, an editor to be exact, wrote about it and i recalled it a few days ago. the article was an old gaming magazine article from, i believe, 1999. im not sure. if you find this artcle online, thatd be sweet.
