I mean how some people will collect a series or movie in every format. Say they were a Star Wars fan. They bought it when it came out on VHS, then they bought it on DVD, and then Blu Ray even though its the same virtually unchanged film.

I've done that with Star Wars but I get rid of the previous format. Well actually, I didnt buy the blu-rays but i downloaded them. It's all about the improved video quality for me, not the collecting.

Ah ok, I think some do it for that and some just like to have it in the latest format. I say that because I know people who buy them with no intention of watching them, haha

Brief summary of what I have bought over the past few months
          (Starting from March)

Game of Thrones: Season 1(Blu-Ray)-I enjoy this show somewhat (maybe not immensely) and I do read the books (still stuck on book 2). It does drag from time to time, but I can look past that.
Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition - Another upgrade from Disney. Not much to say
The Muppets:3 Disc Woka Woka Edition (Blu-Ray) - A fun nostalgic film (even if some parts were unnecessarily long)
The Great Muppet Caper - Added for my Muppet collection. I never saw this film to be honest.
The Frighteners: Extended Edition- Got it mainly for the 4-Hour (well, almost 4-hour) Documentary on the other side of the disc. Never actually saw the movie (Heard mixed reviews about it).
Battlestar Galactica - Never saw this movie either (Heard it's mainly the pilot of the original show), but I'll give it a shot.
A Trip to the Moon: in it's Original 1902 Colors (Blu-Ray)- I Wanted to see what one of the oldest films in cinematic history looked like in HD. Plus the documentary looked interesting. (It had nothing to do with the movie Hugo).
Dinosaur(Blu-Ray)-This was free from DMR, so it's technically another upgrade.

Same here about SW, but for the collecting. I've also re-bought The Evil Dead movies on every format and will get Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park blu ray sets by the end of the year probably.

Recently I picked up Monsters Inc on blu, and Star Wars Droids on dvd from the last Blockbuster in the area going out of business.

                              I bought this little gem...

I bought it cause the cover of the DVD interested me, I have a certain love for advertising mascots. But man, this is a horrible movie.

i bought the 4dvd packaged set of the die hard trilogy..i already owned all 4 dvd's but bought them seperatley over a period of years.the new set are packaged in a small carboard sleeve that slides inside the main sleeve or case.it was worth the 12 bucks to me,partly because one of my die hards(2 i think) is a bit marred now.at the same time i bought the die hard set, i bought a cheap DVD that has 10 horror movies on it..i only bought it for one movie though, "horror express" which i also have on VHS but it's harder to find on DVD.thank goodness for Walmart.
