I traded in some stuff at Buyback's yesterday and finally got Sweeney Todd! This is a great musical and a great film. I've been meaning to buy ST since I first watched it on Netflix a few years ago when it first came out on DVD but I either couldn't find it for a good deal or find a copy at all.

You see, unless its a brand new movie I have to have the day it comes out (Tron and Tron Legacy for example) I usually buy movies used anymore because its cheaper and I can easily amass a huge library of like new or gently used movies that are just as good as brand new. The only other time I buy movies brand new is if I find them in the bargain bin somewhere for $5 or less.

Having said that, Sweeney Todd is amazing! It's dark! It's hilarious! It's violently beautiful!! It's Tim Burton!! LOVE SWEENEY TODD!! If the actual musical production came to Playhouse Square in Cleveland, I wouldn't hesitate to get tickets to see it. And to think I first heard of Sweeney Todd in Kevin Smith's 2003 film, Jersey Girl.

There is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil and the other one is good. Which wolf will win? The one you feed the most.

Since the last time I posted here....

DIsney's Tron: Legacey Blu-Ray/DVD combo-Haven't seen it yet actually, but it was on sale with...

Disney's Tron: Original classic on Blu-Ray/DVD combo- A classic, I really should upgrade to Blu-Ray soon.

Disney/Pixar's The Incredibles: Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital copy combo-Again, I really should upgrade to blu-ray soon, . But I mainly bought it because I had a coupon and the digital copy. And of course because it was an awesome movie.

Cars: Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack Did I mention I need to upgrade to Blu-Ray sometime soon, . But in this case again, I did have a coupon and it come with two little toy cars of Mater and Lighting, I'll admit, I'm a sucker for a free item with the DVD purchase.

Spirt of Wonder-This one wasn't bought by me, a co-worker gave it to me, thought I would probably like it more than him (it was a gift to him). It's an anime and though I haven't seen it yet, it looks really good. Looking forward to seeing it.

Sid and Marty Kroft's H.R. Pufnstuf: The Complete series-I'd be lying if I said I've seen a lot of H.R. Pufnstuf in my day, but I've interested in it, so when I saw Target had the whole series DVD set, I figured why not. Sort of as a birthday gift to myself.

Glad to hear it, LOL! What was your favorite part/character? I loved the excellent soundtrack provided by French electronica robo-duo, Daft Punk, the disc and lightcycle battles were as intense as the original and Rinzler was my favorite character. His backstory is tragic though. I'm glad to hear you liked it mostly because I was talking Tron with a buddy of mine at work for a while and when he saw it he said it did nothing short of rape his childhood memories of the original Tron...sigh...it wasn't that bad.

Sure it was full of plot holes and the plot was thin in a few areas but overall I thought Tron Legacy was a fun movie and like I said before it had a great soundtrack and the visuals were stunning. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was breathtaking. Maybe that was my friend's problem besides the plot. Maybe he wasn't all that thrilled with the movie in the first place because he didn't get to see it in the theater and experience it the way it was meant to be seen and heard: with a LARGE 3D SCREEN and in DOLBY STEREO SURROUND SOUND!! That's not to say Tron isn't a great movie on its own merits, its just not as exciting in 2D. I still love it though.

For whatever reason, I decided to raid the $5 bin at the local Wal-Mart yesterday. I picked up...

                              The Strangers

Howard the Duck (How could I resist this masterpiece?)

                              Hellraiser III/Hellraiser Bloodline Double-Feature.

I also picked up the Critters Collection while I was there.

Dumb and Dumberer was a terrible movie but the scene where Bob Saget freaks out about Harry smearing "shit" (chocolate) all over his bathroom is priceless.

Last DVD I picked up was The Simpsons Season 11. It was in the Ex-Rental bin for £7. Unfoutunatly the packaging sucks. Its one of those cardboard sleeves that can scratch the disc, and given that its been rented multiple times, its not perfect anyway.

Though to be fair there are only the most tiny of jumps in the episodes "Alone again Natura-Diddily" and "Missionary: Impossible".

The Neverending Story (I'd never saw it and it was in the $5 bin.)

Funny Farm (Another one I'd never watched.)

                                          Yes Man (It was $2.)
