Star Trek and UP ? Seriously ? Those are the two worst movies of the last year. Star Trek just wasn't a real Trek movie. Nothing about it said Trek to me. Real fans can't get into it. And UP ? I was hoping that Pixar would redeem themselves after the travesty of animation that was Cars and Ratatooie. I was wrong. Wall-E is alright, but it's nothing compared to Nemo, The Incredibles, and of course, Toy Story. Sort of like Dreamworks. After Dreamworks made the Shrek movies, they failed to put out another film worth watching. I can't even think of anything that made other than Shrek.

WOW, . I mean I know you're entitled to your opinion and all, but man it's always funny when someone posts crap about movies thinking they're so much smarter than the MILLIONS of people whom loved those movies, bought tickets to see it, bought the DVDs/Blu Rays, and just loved those movies.

A LOT of people (including myself) like Up. And for that matter A LOT of people (again including myself) liked Cars and Ratatooie. Pixar can't please everyone, no company can. Personally for my money, Pixar has yet to make a really bad movie. I mean Cars is my least favorite, but even that movie was still pretty good.

And NO, Sherk is totally not all there is to Dreamworks. In fact I'm going to say it, I don't think Sherk was there best movie, Sherk is almost becoming their Mickey Mouse. But, I'll go on record and say that Kung Fu Panda, Over the Hegde (there most underratted movie, perhaps) and Monsters VS Aliens are much better movies and that's just as far as CGI goes.

Man, I HATED when people make comments about things that are people's opinion and act like their word is the "end all say all."

Man I've actually bought qutie a few DVDs since the last time I've posted here...

Domo: Volume 1-Because I think Domo is pretty cool, I saw this at 7-11 and figured why not? I also bought a slurpee with a Domo cup and straw, so when I went up to pay for these items, the lady was like "you're a Domo fan I see. I was like Yeah, love me some Domo" lol.

Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks: Enchanted Musical Edition-I've been meaning to buy this one, since I traded in my other copy, probably to buy some other DVD. I haven't for the longest time, cause I didn't like the price. I think 20 bucks is a lot to spend on one DVD, every now and then, I do. But I'm glad I held out, cause I found it brand new for only ten bucks. There are used DVD stores that I saw sell a used copy of this Disney classic for 15 bucks. I got it cheaper for a brand new copy.

Jim Henson Company's Unstable Fables: Tortoise VS Hare-I'm a huge fan of Jim Henson and the Jim Henson Company. I've been wanting to check out some of these "Unstable Fables" for awhile now. Saw this one at Wal-Mart for only 5 bucks, so I picked it up. Haven't watched it yet, I will sometime down the road.

Looney Tunes: Back in Action-This movie isn't that great, but it was only 4 bucks. It's good enough to spend 4 bucks on, :D . In the end I love Looney Tunes, so I figured why not.

Disney's Tarzan-I've been saying I want to get all the of the canon movies of Walt Disney Animation studios, cause I'm a pretty big Disney fan. Truthfully Tarzan isn't my favorite Disney movie, but it was only ten bucks. Plus it come with my DMR points.

So really most of these DVDs, I bought because they're cheap, .

Since i last posted in thread - all purchased within the last two weeks:

Jean-Claude Van Damme Four-Feature Film Set
            - Hard Target (1993)
            - Lionheart (Full Screen) (1990)
            - Sudden Death (Remastered) (1995)
            - Quest, The (Remastered) (1996)

This was only 13 bucks. Not bad for two movies i really like and four altogether. The only flick i truly dont like, or at least remember not liking - The Quest.

Tremors: Attack Pack - The Franchise Collection
            - Tremors (1990)
            - Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996)
            - Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001)
            - Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2003)
            + Recorded Live (Short) (1975)
+ You're on the Set of 'Tremors 4: The Legend Begins' (Documentary) (2004)

Another 13 buck buy. The only one i haven't seen in this pack is the fourth film. The first film is obviously the best one, i do enjoy its two sequels much though.

Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989-1997 - DTS
            - Batman - Two-Disc Special Edition (1989)
            - Batman Returns - Two-Disc Special Edition (1992)
            - Batman Forever - Two-Disc Special Edition (1995)
            - Batman & Robin - Two-Disc Special Edition (1997)

I already have all four Batman pictures across two disc, in the form of the "4 favorite films" set. They're just the bare bone releases though. This set has all four original Batman films, each with a case and bonus disc. So that's 8 dvds, and the bonus material clocks in at over 17 hours. Add the fact that this set is $15 brand new at some Wal-marts(that's where i got it for that price), that's a definite purchase.

            Bloodsport/Timecop Double Feature
Don't know why i been in a Van Damme mood, but nonetheless i am. Two films that are must owns for fans of his. 9 bucks.

            Altered States
Never seen this, hear good stuff about it frequently. Only 3 bucks new at Big Lots.

            EdTv
Guilty pleasure. Love this flick. 3 bucks new at Big Lots.

Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even
Love this movie and is one of the few movies that Jenny Lewis is in, when she was still acting. Been looking for this one for a while. Found it randomly. Another 3 buck buy at Big Lots.

                      Heavy Metal

Simply put, this is one of the most amazingly breathtaking works of animated film I have ever seen. Maybe its only second to The Secret Of NIMH, which will always be my favorite animated film. They sure don't make them like this anymore. I first heard about Heavy Metal (the film and the magazine) via word of mouth after I saw yes, the episode of South Park entitled "Major Boobage", which is essentially a Heavy Metal homage and parody and I thought I'd check out the movie next time I went to the library (because video stores don't carry anything decent anymore and my aunt owns the Netflix account in my house and I can't afford to do it anyway).

I was floored at how beautiful the visuals were, how clever the writing was, and how epic the soundtrack was. I'm a huge classic rock guy so I was impressed right away when I heard the likes of Sammy Hager, Donald Fagen, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, Devo, and Black Sabbath. Total Visual and Aural Heaven!! Heavy Metal isn't just a movie. It's an experience. I'm totally not surprised that many consider the film a cult classic not to mention Taarna is one of the hottest animated women you will ever lay eyes on.

Now $11.99 is a little steep for a cheap bastard like me who doesn't like to spent more than $9.99 on a used DVD but today I made a special exception because I honestly haven't seen this DVD anywhere else but Barnes and Noble (marked up at $29.99 for a single disc "not so special edition";) leading me to believe this movie has probably been out of print for a few years. This makes secondhand Movie/Music/Game shops a godsend because if you stick around and frequent some of your favorite shops long enough sooner or later you'll come across exactly what you were looking for.

I bought quite a few DVDs since the last time I posted and I might buy another today, lol, even though I shouldn't, but I have a few other DVDs I was going to trade in, though. Anyway...

Magilla Gorilla: The Complete series-Classic Hanna-Barbera animation from the 1960s to add to my collection of animation DVDs. It was a four disc set for only $7.99, great deal I couldn't pass up.

Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo-Becasue I found it cheap and figured I'll replace my older little more worn out copy, plus it came with DMR points.

X-Men-The Animated Series: Volume 1-Because I have volume 2, and I found volume 1 again real cheap. I loved this cartoon, much more true to the comics than the movies were.

Muppets Take Manhattan and Muppets From Space two movie pack-Just because I'm willing to spend 6 bucks to save a tiny bit of DVD space, .

Disney's Brother Bear-Same reason it was real cheap, this time brand new at Wal-Mart. It's the special two disc verison and I'm collecting the 48 (soon to be 49 when Princess and the Frog gets a DVD release) Walt Disney Animation studios movies.

Disney's Treasure Planet- Same reason as Brother Bear, really, . It come with DMR points, so I'm happy. [b]

Here's a few more I can add to my already pretty big collection...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (02 series): Season one, Part one-I've been wanting to add the newer series to my TMNT collection. This was only 9 bucks and it has the first 12 episodes of this show. Great show.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (80s): Season 7 part 3 the Donatello Silce-Because it was the last one I needed for the season 7 sets. As the other three it came with a mini figure of the respective turtle, now I have all four.

Disney's the Rescurers Down Under-Because I was able to get it for cheap, it come with DMR points and as I've mention before I'm collection all (soon to be) 49 movies from Walt Disney Animation studios.

DisneyNature's Earth-Because I found it cheap again and I've heard good things about it. Haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Pale Force-A really funny collection of animated shorts from Jim Gaffigan, a really really man comdiean. It starts Jim Gaffigan and Conan O' Brien (actually Jim doing the voice) as a dual of crime fighting really pale super heroes. It's so funny, I had to get it.

This movie is so incredibly underrated...
If it wasn't so short, this easily coulda been one of the best movies that came out last year. You can instantly sense the potential greatness of this movie as soon as you watch it...

I picked up more cartoons to add to my collection, cause I love cartoons.

Tom and Jerry: The Spotlight Collection volume 1-Cause the cartoons I probably love the most are the "Golden Age of Animation" cartoons. Great cartoons featuring awesome bonus features. Love having it in my collection.

Tom and Jerry: The Spotlight Collection volume 3-Same reason, .

I've also bought some more from Ebay, but I don't want to mention them til I get all the ones from ebay.
