I may miss the splat, but I wish I knew more of the old Nickelodeon logo with the pinball they used in the 80s.

Who cares its just a logo.

I'll be sure and forward that sentiment to:
      Apple
      AT&T
      Domino's Pizza
      Ferrari
      IBM
      Nike
      Oakley
      Pepsi
      Ralph Lauren's Polo

      etc.

This is an officially new logo, and will be introduced by the end of the month.

My God, Nick had a chance to move along with the 21st century, but with this new logo, they seem to have made a significant step backwards.

They haven't even referred to themselves as Nickelodeon in years, it's been Nick for quite a while now.

Did any of you here the excuse behind the logo change? Apparently it was "outdated" and needed to fit on a business card.

And I will always miss this logo and the bumpers:

Anyway, I hope the new logo's bumpers will be a throwback to those.

Nickelodeon has referred themselves as "Nick" ever since the silver ball era (early 80s), so it's nothing new. Okay, yes, they're now referring themselves as "Nick" more than before.

To me, it looks a lot like the first logo with the pinball with the way they have nickelodeon spelled out...the text is just orange.

I could pretty much care less if Nickelodeon were to change their logo. As long as they still air programming that's targeted for kids, then that's all that matters.
Yeah, I feel the same, and for the most part, the station still does. It lacks the variety it had in the past, but the programming is still aimed at a young/younger audience.

I know, but they still referred to themselves as Nickelodeon on bumpers and "stay tuned to Nickelodeon" etc. At least until around 98.

They're removing Nick Jr? I did not know that. I don't think that they would replace it with classic programming, though.

Nick Jr. is going to be a channel replacing Noggin, as well as Teenick replacing The N, and once they do the switch on September 28th, everything on those networks will remain exactly the same.

At least the Nicktoons bumpers payed homage to ye olde days of the network. What did they do to the jingle!?!

It really doesn't look like Nick Jr. is going away on Nickelodeon, at least on my TV listings. I think Noggin is only changing it's name.
