I haven't watched it since 2001 and I also don't intend on looking back. They really need to just finish it already. I don't know how it's still been on for the past few years.

it seems that they are still managing to make new episodes after such a long time.

I don't make it a point to catch the new episodes,

but it's always a nice treat to see an old favorite of mine on weekdays

it seems like there are some episodes of the simpsons that they have not aired in a very long time.

I haven't watched the Simpsons in a loooong time. I remember watching it with my family when it was new, but I pretty much lost interest after the first few seasons. I think now, they just want to see how long they can keep it going.

Simpons should have been dropped years ago, and Futurama should have had more attention and work put into it. Futurama would still be around kicking more and more ass every week, and the Simpsons would've left with a hopefully great final episode and happy fans.

I still watch it every Sunday.

I rarely watch the Simpons. It should have been a show that could have gone on and on. There's always so much political and cultural humor to put into the show. But the writing is just not funny anymore, it's lost something.

I agree with the Simpsons statement....a great final episode grand-grand finale thing would have been great. I never cared for Futurama, though.

i am a believer that the simpsons peaked around 96/97. after that, the episodes became non sensical show loaf with no coherent plot or continuity with previous episodes. i agree it should have gone with a bang long a go and more attention focused on futurama.

I still sorta watch the new episodes, although I havent rushed and made sure to watch it every Sunday like I used to. I agree with the concensus that the new episodes have been bad, the past few years have been bad, and this show shouldve just ended already. But being a long time Simpsons fan, it's hard for me to say I dont like the show anymore cus I still do. Just the old episodes.
                              WHAT?

I turn it on whenever there are new episodes, but I find myself paying attention to other things while it's on. I wonder if it's because the writing staff has changed over the years? All I know is that the show lacks what made it great the first few seasons. Hard to pin-point.

                                  1: Loss of charm
2: Different times we are living in
3: Has gotten old, out of ideas, or playing same ideas over again.

It's a mix of the above and probably a lot more. If there really is a Simpsons movie coming out soon, then that is probably the core of why the last few seasons have been shitty, all the charm and gold is going into a movie; we can only hope. And hope that the movie wouldn't suck.

I used to love the Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Cartoon Planet, King of the Hill, Beavis and Butthead, Southpark and all those other prime time cartoons more than anything in the world. But then the Simpson started to become less funny and the other shows stopped making me laugh also, and in fact, cartoons in general don't entertain me at all anymore, not even the Pixar movies and Aenime. I don't know, maybe it was the ceasing of the weed smoking about 2 years ago or maybe I'm finally growing up or maybe this is a sign to quit relying on the imagination of others for entertainment and start using my own before I get too old to do anything.
