I'm wanting to build a MAME arcade machine, and I have a very simple idea for it. If any of you have any insight or see any flaws in my plan please let me know.

Ok so I'm going to strip out my world series game and use that as my cabinet, then I'm going to hook up a computer in there and mount a monitor where the arcade screen once was. Instead of hacking up a keyboard I'm going to buy a hotrod control panel and use that. And I also plan to set up the computer such that the MAME program starts itself on startup.

So basically all the pieces would be hooked up to a powerstrip inside the cabinet which would then run out and plug into the wall supplying the power.

So yeah if anybody sees any problems, has any advice, or anything like that; I'd be glad to hear it. Also if anyone can tell me of a good MAME program that would be way cool.

it would be a shame to tear up a working arcade to make a mame machine. why not make one from scratch . there are plans all over the net on how to build one if you are into wood working. some cabs are sold premade for xbox and such so i would rather adapt one of those.. my 2cents
