As a kid, I always wanted Sega Saturn. Now that the greatest invention to man, only know as EBay, has many, should I buy one. I'm all nostalgic and shit like that.

    Buy or Pass?

Sega Saturn emulation isn't exactly a wonderful experience at this point in time.

Sega Saturn was my first game console! It was great! Get it, you'll be glad you did.

Well, Virtua Cop and Virtua Fighter 2 are a blast on the system. Actually, I bought mine pretty much just for Virtua Fighter 2. If you're into 32 bit, the PS1 has a lot more worthwhile games, but the Saturn isn't too bad. Try to find one with a working internal memory, though (but if you can't, just get the memory cart).

I'd buy, but not right away.

I just bought one 6 months ago, and it's alright. The Virtua Fighter, and Virtua Cop games hold up real well...but if you're looking to get the most out of it, it's all about importing. There's an Action Replay 4 in 1 out there, that allows the playing of said games. Nothing like playing an arcade-perfect port of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter...well, unless you don't like Capcom fighters.

Umm, Saturn emulation is almost perfect. Has been for like two years now. Buy a Saturn. Buy several. One of each model to leave alone, one of each for parts, one of each to mod.

If you can find a cheap one.. get it.

                      Then chip it (for 12.95)

The Saturn was probably the last great 2-d machine.

Yeah, when developers could work both processors.

Did you know Sega didn't give any western developers dev kits until after the system launched? THAT'S why most of the games that didn't come from Japan sucked. Sega of Japan threw a monkey wrench into the machinery every time Sega of America started getting things together, then when the Saturn bombed, they blamed the US executives.

Yeah, I have a little animosity towards Sega of Japan. They're the ones that wanted to stick with making Genesis addons instead of a new system. Then there was the whole "hey let's get the jump on Sony by releasing the system six months early with no games" thing.

Yeah, just a little pissed at them.

I own a Sega Saturn and still enjoy the "shooting" games. The ones that actually use a gun instead of a controller. I have several including Virtua Cop, Virtua Cop 2, and a few others I can't remember right now. The only one I haven't got yet is House of the Dead which is pretty rare and still going for $50 on ebay.

They don't make shooting games like these anymore. In fact I can't think of any on the latest consoles.

You mean the compilation of Genesis games and the slight re-vamp of Sonic 3D Blast? o_o
If you're looking for Sonic action, the Saturn ain't for you. It was supposed to have a unique Sonic title, but it got canned at the last minute. A copy of a BETA for that particular game sold recently. The price had 4 digits.

lol. there was a very BEAUTIFUL and fun game for the saturn with a robot guy made af spheres(?). surely the most beautiful game on a 16bit of all time. cant remember the name, but it was similar to the word spheres.

The revamp included nice audio, better textures and a few CGI movies here and there. The game was still the same, and is definitely one of Sonic's worst outings.

Would that be a Sega Pico by any chance? :)
Not that I'd know what one looked like, but I don't know what the top-right console is.
