As much as I hate Nickelodeon, I was rather amused by a bumper the UK branch of the channel aired back in 1999: Neighborhood Toonwatch, in which they report that their Nicktoons are being ripped off by bootleggers. The only 4 of the 6 examples given which I can remember are:
Dud (Doug)
The Happy Beavers (The Angry Beavers)
DogCat (CatDog)
And you can guess what Hey Ronald! Is a knockoff of...
It also mentions that the knockoff can be spotted by bad drawing, sad colors, rubbish sound and just not being quite right (we then hear Angelica of the Rugrats (in a different tone of voice to usual) say "I am Angelica and I love everybody"
We are then shown snippets of the genuine articles and Nickelodeon call themselves "the home of Genuine Nicktoons".
Anyone got a copy of this?
