ah, a thread I can relate to. and a very good omen, too. this afternoon, before I went home, I went to the secondhand store and found a bunch of Degrassi novels featuring Joey Jeremiah, Snake, Wheels, Lucy, Shane, Melanie, and the legendary Stephanie Kaye. the only one missing was my favorite Caitlin and I already have Spike's story.

and when I got home, School's Out was on TV which made it even sweeter. are there any other folks out here who are proud to be Canadian because of this show which knows no boundaries? my deepest regards to the ones in the States who got screwed over one a few shows that were too taboo for their TVs (namely when Manny got an abortion and when they cut the first episode of Degrassi High short) :(

Yeah, and they cut the episode where one of the twins gets an abortion short in the states. The part where they go into the clinic and there is the protester holding up the model of the fetus going "look at your baby!" was cut out.

I remember wathcing it in Jr.High, one of the teachers would tape it and let us watch it on fridays. I think they still make/play it, I see it every once in awhile on the tv lineups but can't remember the channel probabley pax or something.

we used to watch it in health class...i freakin love that show. the acting sucks and it is so corny, but i love them all, jr high, high, and tng!

i love spike, she's so cute, and i love the fact that her and snake are married in tng and they are the tie between the 2 degrassi generations.

Degrassi Junior High....Wow. Where do I start? I remember seeing the episodes on DVD at Home and Careers class, and a LOT of it was unintentionally funny. The pedophile that picks up Wheels when he's hitchhiking, the transistion from a suicidal Stephanie to the happy 80s Degrassi theme song, and the last episode.

THE BUILDING IS BURNING HOLY CRAP
          *degrassi theme*

I still can't get over how stupid the last episode is.

Despite all that, the entire thing is realistic.

            *degrassi theme starts*
all up beat and shit...its sad that i know ALL the words anyone need me to prove me dorkiness?

My grade 7 teacher used to let us watch degrassi jr. high in school. If memory serves me correct, we watched episodes using the film projector. We also watched the "degrassi talks" series a lot in school. They were great for when you had to do presentations for health class. You could borrow them from the public library.

What? Schools out was awesome. Best finale of a series ever.

the swearing, joey fucks katelyn and tessa, wheels breaks lucys face, zit remedy split up...

it's was just so different than other show finales

i like both although i am a bigger fan of the original series... it was truly orignial the new one just takes the plots from Junior High/High and "updates" them a little...
