I even forgot they had a Nick Magazine. I remember reading Nick Magazine where they interviewed Matt Groenig about Futurama. And they had that stupid dog in every issue.

This is kind of like when Disney pulled the plug on Disney Adventures back in 2007. However the quality and content of the magazine jumped the shark long before then much like Nickelodeon magazine mostly because we as well as the countless others who read the magazines as kids grew up and stopped reading such a "childish" publication.

However now that we Retrojunkies are older and are continuing our quest to cling to objects of the past, those magazines from ten to fifteen years ago are starting to look pretty comforting and remind us of a world that wasn't so horrible and a time that wasn't so complicated.

I miss the 90's versions of both magazines where we'd rant and rave over the latest trends, the best movies, the hottest music, the most entertaining video games, and let's not forget the Saturday Morning Cartoon. 90's kids were the last generation to experience 4 hours of unadulterated kid fun every Saturday until news at noon or sports came on. Occasionally though, a movie or some other special program intended for our audience would come on. Especially around the holidays.

Anyway, I've already started to ramble but I know one thing is for sure. Time is changing and kids are just into new and progressive forms of media. It is sad that magazines that we grew up with are going under but it is all for the better.

Here is also another insight I just had which I address to those as well as myself who think the magazines dropped in quality years ago. It is not the magazines that have changed, it is us that have changed. Time changes all.

Well, I always wanted to get Nickelodeon Magazine when I was a Kid. I once had a March or April 1996 issue with an Elvis cover (sadly, I lost that one). But, then in 2002, I found two Nickelodeon Magazines from October 1994 and October 1998 inside at a defunct FAO Schwartz at the Glendale Galleria. I still have them.

Strange enough, I recently went to a local $1 book shop in Burbank, and I found an old Nickelodeon Magazine from September 1998! I was lucky!

But, yes I never read any of the recent Nickelodeon Magazine since they're much worthless to me.

Just like with the Disney one, I've never read Nickelodeon Magazine. I remember the commercials for them, but never was interested enough to ask my parents to get it for me.

AH just something passing with the time, I used to get disney adventures all the time once in awhile I got nick off the rack. I remember that stuid dog too. Yet, there are more live action and less animation on both of the networks and they are for another demographic ( not age just another generation) misty eyed no, suprised no but remember there are more things coming down the pipeline we dont like to to maturity or lack of lol.

I'm a little sad but then again they didn't really have alot going on and it was short as hell at times. However, I'm not surprise. Still, all I can say is oh well it was fun while it lasted and move on to something better, something new.

I had a few issues of this way back when it first started. It was fun back then, but I'm surprised it's taken them this long to stop making it.

Magazines are pretty much dead nowadays anyway. Used to, magazines were great for people with niche interests like anime and whatnot, but now you can just get info on the internet for free. Magazines aren't viable anymore unless they're really, really mainstream like People or something like that, and I suspect that those kinds of publications will go the way of the dodo eventually too.

In all fairness to Nickelodeon magazines as a whole are pretty much starting to go the way of the blacksmith.

I stopped reading Nickelodeon Magazine when I hit puberty.

I'm only 22, but why does this place make me feel old?

Again, why are any of you still talking about this?

Perhaps it's time that most of you recognize you're in your 20s and 30s and that maybe you should be embarrassed to even be still talking about Nickelodeon and their magazine.

BTW, Nickelodeon is still as good today as it was back then. You just outgrew it. I thought your 90's Nick was a piece of shit, because my Nick was in the 80's. Guess what, my parents thought my Nick was a pile of dog droppings too. Guess what else, in 10 more years there are going to be then-adults on here talking about the glory days of Nick in the 2000's. So when you complain about Nickelodeon being "bad now," you should really be ashamed of yourself. Hit yourself with a stick and repeat to yourself "I'm not a kid anymore, I shouldn't be watching and/or reading this shit."

The reason I don't argue with people on IMDB is the same reason that I don't go into a Special Ed class and try to teach calculus.

Well isn't that why we have RetroJunk? To talk about stuff from our childhood. So far I haven't said anything about the 2000's so what's the problem? If you didn't experience these things there's no need in posting. The 90's on this website is considered "retro." So it's ok. Let people talk about their era and let you talk about your era. There's no need to critisize us.
